I feel like Gus has the most upside, but Bielema is the best hire of the 3.

Time will tell AU's back in the mix baby. There was nothing wrong w/ Malzahn's offense here. We lost to the big boy's in '09 & '11 because of a poor head coaching job which yielded poor fundamentals, discipline, and conditioning (the same problems Paul Rhodes noted as soon as he took over Iowa State in '09). If anything Malzahn masked those deficiencies in '09 & '11 that were painfully obvious in '12. Everything Malzahn's done so far from when he left Auburn until right now shows he's learned from being in that circus under GENE CHIZIK (5-19) :banghead: and is applying that knowledge make sure he doesnt make the same failures as a head coach himself. I think the proper fundamentals, recruiting, and physical conditioning combined w/ Gus' offensive mind will pay dividends.

Half of the issue is coaching/technique & half of the issue is being scrawny & physically inferior to the opponent IMO. It's hard to decide to go up and hit stick someone when it's pretty obvious they're bigger/ stronger than you

Aside from Cam & Nick, no we didnt. The O-line just performed spectacularly as a unit and they all new their assignments. They got pushed around in games that they didnt show up mentally. Their success was more technique than physicality. That's nothing to complain about but I've yet to see any of our units just be physically elite as far as strength, size, speed etc. If you dont believe me look at last years' linemans' combine numbers.

I also think Yox is pretty bad. Look at LSU and BAMA's freshman/sophomores compared to ours. When was the last time we beat a team up physically?...JMO

Well atleast when you lay your head on your pillow at night...you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt...that the glass is empty.

I think it may be more like viewing the glass 3/4 empty or 1/4 full right now

I for one, REFUSE to believe we are as bad as we showed yesterday. Maybe that's blind homerism & maybe what some people consider as a "fan". I'm always going to give my team the benefit of the doubt. But regardless, yesterday was the ONLY thing we have to base our judgement off of for this team. So if we're being completely objective (like i think AMM/ others try to be) there's no way we beat State next week. And our outlook for this season is maybe 6 wins assuming we get better & win some (more) games we shouldnt. I prefer blind faith though, seems more natural to me & makes things funner. :dunno: Sue me.
ETA: I still think we can win 8-9 games overall

re: Why can't Auburn's secondary fly around and make plays like...

Roof fricking sucks. The talent is there. He insists on playing cover 2 zones when either he sucks @ teaching it, or our players just suck @ reacting. Observing from the stands our db's were more than capable of sticking the USU receivers across the board. When we went man-man in the 2nd half they werent beat very often. There were like 3 times in man-man where the receiver ran a perfect slant off a bump and the qb made a perfectly timed pass. The next play we were back in the Tampa 2. Usually, i concede to the coaches knowledge because theyve been around more football than i can imagine. frick that. Roof needs to go. I dont even care what that does with recruiting.
re: Is Mike Dyer not starting?

He was listed as #2 on the two-deep for some reason. But he is the feature back. I think its just an effort by the coaches to give onterrio confidence in himself as an everydown back or something. But unless the coaches know something we dont, which isnt all that far fetched, dyer is our #1 back....not Omac

AU 8-4
re: Who is the one team you don't want to lose to this season?

I agree with you on state, boss. If we lose to them that would change my entire perception of the season. In the worst way.

Hey bud. I just wanna thank you for translating that subliminal message for the board because that's exactly what I meant. I'll post with more class in the future. I'm sorry for the behavior of the auburn fanbase in this thread & everyday life.
