A top 5 pick in next year's draft - going to the bottom of the barrel - Saints better not be in that number ??

Legit G, UDFA from NC - watch this kid.

Before the dust settles, Bell will be the nickel/dime starter IMO
Porkchop, half the youngsters don't know half the players you mentioned.

All in all, a pretty good draft, imo, despite what the "experts" are printing.. Two solid starters, a starting Nickel/dime DB to replace Bush, a project player with great upside that will play in a number of sets & a needed RB for depth replacing Robinson/Cadet (can't depend on an aging Hightower).

With only 5 picks, a pretty good 3 days.

You are not alone Dad. Each kid is different, so hopefully you not have to go thru to many relapses. Took me a long time to learn to appreciate he sober time & endure the relapses. My youngster has been sober for 5 years, but I accept the fact that it is a lifelong battle.

Hope there is no guilt on your part. I raised 2 & 2 stepchildren. From the time we merged the families, I tried to be as consistent in parenting as I possibly could. In hindsight, hint I did a pretty good job. The end result, raised an Academic All-American QB & a heroin addict. Each choose there own paths regardless of our guidance.

Thoughts and prayers with all.
Ok - need to understand that my journey has lasted a little longer than most in this thread - coached youth for 15 years - announced Jr. & Sr high games for 20 years - used to do recruiting seminars for kids in Dallas-Ft. Worth - was married to a coach's daughter with many playing siblings & children - son played from youth thru college & Europe

The college game has been my passion in this life. If asked, I consider myself a student of the game to this day. Guessed it was a matter of time before this question hit TD & was not sure if I would post when it happened, but fwiw, here is the list & I am sure that a few to many Bud's along the way, probably forgot to add to the list.

re: I hate it for Quinn

Give me a break. Quinn & Dad see the handwriting on the wall. With the talent coming in & the current progress of those on the team, even a talented guy like Quinn will have a tough time getting serious playing time.

With the depth & recruiting I proposing, this will be the norm as we go down the road ... at all positions.

Great young man - wish him the best.

Reality is, this will be the trend as the depth & recruiting levels rise. Lot of very good athletes will move on if they want serious playing time. Position makes no difference. Guys like Quinn can upgrade a position in many places around the country.

Godspeed son, you can say you were a starting WR for the Tigers. Lot of former athletes would like to be able to say that. Look forward to following the next stop on your journey.

Ok - great hires, but none of them step on the field on Sat. Still need that QB or hopefully the new coach can bring him along at a better pace than history shows.
Now two years from now & beyond?
Look out!
Hard to believe this one. This is one talented young coach. Tutored 3 NFL 1st round QBs plus co OC. Could be heir apparent to Cam. Great hire. Slam dunks with the recent hires. Enjoy while we can, cause three of the last four are destined to be a HC somewhere down the line.

Welcome aboard son!!

Hope you have the career that the last Tiger 6' QB enjoyed. There is a guy in NOLA about your size that does pretty well in another league.

FWIW - no athletic scholarships at Harvard, so probably had academic assistance at some level.

Welcome aboard Lindsey !!

Youngster was accepted at Harvard, so do not think he will have a problem with the playbook.

Reminds me a lot of another 6' QB that did pretty well at LSU, Herb Tyler.

This underrated "3 Star" QB will surprise a few before it is over. Herb started 4 games as a freshman as I recall.
Fine with both outcomes - LSU AD needs a major review - Saiints Scout staff needs review

Has anyone looked at the sacheule? AFC/NFC West - count the playoff teams in the group - over cap heading into the new season - anything over .500 will be a great job from the staff
May take a few classes to get the players he needs to run his chosen schemes, but history shows he adjust to the talent in the locker room. Great hire!
Not sure a single athlete's death effected me like Pete's unexpected passing. Ha a great professional fried that played at Wis. we were "Mutt & Jeff"; he was 6'9" & I, 5'6". On the floor at a LV CES show, he finds me in a booth with tears running dow his face, "You hear Pete is gone?". Must have been a site, these two guys in a man hug, tears streaming.

RIP Pete - Hope our HC knows the date & brings one home for a true Tiger.

Answering an earlier question, Don Redden passed in March '88, two months later.
