re: Would I benefit from a Roku (if I already have an Apple TV) - TigerDaddy30
Without starting another thread, does anyone know if I put the PS4 to sleep (instead of complete shutdown) if it can automatically install software updates in the background when I'm not using it?
Yes ETA: I believe a PS+ subscription is required for this feature, but I may be wrong. ...

Amazon acquires Eero mesh router company to further expand its smart home efforts - TigerDaddy30
[link=(https://9to5mac.com/2019/02/11/amazon-acquires-eero/)]Can’t wait to see how much more this can bring to the smart home game. [/link] ETA: I’m not very familiar with Eero, as I went the Orbi route, and have no complaints. ...

re: iPad Won't Update OS - TigerDaddy30
It depends on which generation iPad you have. If it is a much older generation, then the latest firmware is likely not compatible with it. [link=(https://everymac.com/systems/apple/ipad/ipad-faq/ipad-operating-system-info-update-cost-app-support.html)]See this compatibility list[/link]...

re: Looking for a better sensor that I can use on my mailbox.... - TigerDaddy30
The wait was no problem. I just wanted to make sure it didn’t get delivered to the wrong house in my neighborhood, (which supposedly happens quite often). I certainly do not mind paying you for the sensor. If you refuse to take payment, I’ll at least pay it forward. Also, big shout out to McTiger fo...

re: Looking for a better sensor that I can use on my mailbox.... - TigerDaddy30
Not sure if you ever got around to sending that sensor to me or not, but in case you did, I never received it. Just didn’t want you thinking I was ungrateful by not responding to you if you had sent it. ...

re: Phillips Hue Lights - TigerDaddy30
Best Buy is selling this exact starter kit for $100. Being that you’re basically either getting a free bridge, or 4 free white bulbs, I would consider the deal to be worth $60. That being said, when I get my several packages in, I plan on taking them to ...

re: Phillips Hue Lights - TigerDaddy30
I’d say so, being that a brand new bridge alone costs $60, and each of the bulbs in the recent imgur link appear to be the $15 warm white Hue bulbs...

re: How do you smart/wifi plugs? - TigerDaddy30
Maybe this would work? :dunno: ETA: I know it seems kinda far fetched. (Hub #1 would be dedicated only to smart plug #1. Hub #2 would control the rest of your smart home). Hub #1 tells smart plug #1 to power off smart plug #2, shutting down hub #2. ...

I’m still trying to figure out the best way to mount the sensor inside the mailbox and the magnet on the inside of the mailbox door though. That’s my issue I’m having with the Smartthings sensor. ...

Looking for a better sensor that I can use on my mailbox.... - TigerDaddy30
I purchased the Smartthings smart sensor yesterday, and upon attempting to attach it to the inside of my mailbox and mailbox door, the way the 3M tape is set up on the sensor, it would not allow there to be a decent contact between the sensor and its magnet. I seem to need the magnet’s 3M tape reloc...

re: anyone here have the Orbi system for Wifi? - TigerDaddy30
I’ve had the Orbi RBK50 (which covers up to 5,000 sq ft) since March of 2017. I’ve never had a problem with mine, and setup took about 10 mins (from pulling out of the box to enjoying strong WiFi)...
