Id recommend always going with glass! If she is wanting to do portraits, you can't go wrong with the 85 1.8 lens, but if you don't want to spend that much the 50 will work.
You could also buy her a subscription to adobe cloud so she can have access to lightroom and photoshop, and id also get her...

We also have the smaller yeti cup and the next to largest cooler. Both were given to my wife through her work for one of their projects. Haven't used the cooler yet. I'd have bought the Rtic if I was actually going to but one. ...

We are going at the end of Oct with another couple to Nashville. Found out too late that Sturgill Simpson is playing on my birthday at the Ryman. It is sold out, would love to go, but not sure it is worth paying $200 a ticket...
