Play out the scenario where we fired BK. The great recruiting class falls apart. Current players hit the portal. These days with the portal, you have to have a big hire ready to go if you get rid of a coach. So I think that gives BK a bit more time to put his pieces in place. We are all dissatisfied with opening games losses, bad decisions and the uneven team (strong O/weak D). But as long as BK is making improvements (staff/team depth,etc) I see him staying as he is likely better than the alternative.

Question is who is a better alternative?

There should be a clawback from BKs contract for every dollar we have to spend buying out his bad hires. Maybe reduce his buyout? Of course that could incentivize him to not make changes but seems like he should feel some pain for his bad decision.

He needs to hit the transfer portal and play for the US

He wants to play for LSU. He has a path to start next year. Yeah. I give him some playing time. It may be limited in tight games (if JD is producing). But if I’m CBK, I tell him he will have a few series a game with a chance for more being game dependent. You want to keep him in the fold for sure. Think you stop short of guaranteeing more than that.

Would Nuss be ok with 25-30% of the snaps and the lock on starting as a junior?

Dont see it happening. I think he has shown he wants to be here. Dude could have left when everyone assume Walker was the heir apparent.

Also it is on BK to let him know he has a role next season. Personally I like having him get real experience next year with JD still the starter. And with Daniels a senior he has no leverage to bitch about sharing time.

Finally I think it makes sense to have a second QB option. Some days either due to who is hot or due to matchups we may want to give Nuss more reps.

He is 3 star so it helps with total points I guess not average rating.

More importantly, how good is he? Has anyone seen him play or study his tape? If we are offering him, I am assuming he is under rated and has the ability to improve a good deal. We should be adding players that we think can contribute I trust the staff that he is that type of player. And with the portal
Guys we added he will have time to develop.
