They nailed the forecast in BR; Rain chances were limited only 20-30% ; Storms were going to fire up South of BR.
8 degrees cooler now than this time yesterday
Low 73 tonight?

Me too. Great app to have
60mph gust on East Cameron oil platform
51mph @ Ship Shoal
Bertha's BLOB is Flexing down in the Northern Gulf

Beautiful weather day in BR so far! Extra Blue Sky from the Dry-air & Breezy...
Wind Gust close to 30mph as Ozempic Bertha approaches
Center of the nearly naked Circulation looks cool on satellite as she plows across the marshes of St.Bernard

Nice tropical downpour here in Millerville /I-12 area in EBR from outer rain bands of Bertha. Close to 30mph gust as sheets of rain across rooftops gave it the tropical vibe, A couple cracks of Thunder too...
Sun is back out already!!
So Bertha's forecast will weaken to 50mph by the time it makes landfall near St.Bernard?
Panama City had a 59mph wind gust!

Yep Bertha is being butchered but putting up a fight!
Wild looking system! Glad this is not mid-late August; may be a different story....

re: Will Lake Charles become bigger than Lafayette due to LNG?
Posted by RBTiger on 7/21/26 at 12:48 am to FlyingTigerBo
Lafayette may have been larger than LC population wise....but they didn't have Lake Charles tower as TALL like this. Too bad it was demolished due to hurricane Laura
Capital One 22 stories 375 feet
Lafayette's Tallest ....Chase Tower 15 floors ; 196 feet
Tooo bad this proposed Twin High rise didn't get built...would have been the only tower tall enough not to strain your neck looking above the tree-line from I-10

It should be Ozempic Bertha instead of Big Bertha

Neat set up along the Pigeon Forge strip following the Little river; with nice cement walkways go along the Greenway for miles and under the bridge by the hotels!
The Giant Ferris Wheel on the little island between the River Forks is really a cool Entertainment District.
The ole Mill on the River in historic downtown is nice too.
Gatlinburg could only grow so much ...the growth from the outflow is impressive. Even Sevierville trying to capitalize now

Millibars now down to 1005
Still a naked swirl
Still a naked swirl
Millibars have slightly dropped to 1008. Wouldn't surprise me to see this become Bertha sometime tomorrow afternoon.
But she will battle dry air and shear ; hopefully keeping heavier rains over the coastal waters
Storms are firing near the center of circulation the past couple hours
Some nasty storms raced across the Chandelier Islands earlier ; wonder if there were a few "Water Spouts"?

Thing is barely moving ; still weak only 1011 millibars. Fairly large system still needs to consolidate battling dry-air.
How far from the coast will it trek as it finally moves West>??
Will this actually become a 60mph Tropical Storm>?
