About 40 years ago (until my voice changed) I used natural voice. Since then have always made my own out of small garret snuff cans and rubbers (new - not used).

My wife dredges it through seasoned flour, then dips it in a bow of cold water, then flours it again - gives it a little extra "crust". I like it that way. Be sure to make some buttermilk cathead biscuits to go with it!!! :bow:

A ceramic rod is my fav. Can get them cheap online - epoxy it into any kind of grip - antler, etc.

However, since I started prowling the OT, I now have a butler sharpen all my knives daily. :bow:
