I find it interesting that whenever there is a thread started about where to live in Houston, it's always the same responses .

Midtown if you're single
Rice village , West U, the Heights if you have money
Everything else that's not the hood is 30 to 45 mins from the city.

That tells me that Houston has similar problems to NOLA. Y'all just have more space to avoid the problems.

Another thing about going from Louisiana to "Houston" to buy a car. The dealers know why you're there. They already know you think you're going to a great deal, so they use that in their favor.

They'll search prices in your area, then offer you a slightly better deal to keep you in the seat. I also noticed that they'll offer you a near base option package for the "low" price they quoted you, before you even mention what package you're interested in.

I wish the media would stop pandering to get clicks. This is some fringe social media activist, not a city govt discussing removing the statues. It won't or shouldn't happen, and we should expect better from news sources
