re: Who does the BCS select for the Sugar Bowl?

If UT beats K-State, OU wins Big 12 and goes to Fiesta. In that scenario, I think Clemson goes to Sugar instead of K-State.

there's no way they pull their schollies after the decommit… it'd be a PR nightmare, not to mention it would be murderous towards future recruiting
I never said they would pull scholarships. The only one of his teammates we reached on was Kamara. Gallman is a great running back regardless of what you may think. Ask UGA, Auburn, Ole Miss, and South Carolina (who also offered him) what they think...

Clearly ESPN has no clue who his top 3 schools are. Earlier today they were reporting UGA, Bama, and Ole Miss as his top 3. Now it's Auburn, Alabama, and Ole Miss. The only thing that ESPN does in terms of college football is promote the SEC in any way possible, and I can't blame them given the money attached to the TV contract and the power of the conference. It's not in their interest to tell the truth in this situation, and the truth is that RN has decommitted to take time off from the recruiting process and get his mind straight. He informed our coaching staff of this decision on Sunday night and now ESPN is getting wind of it and trying to spin it into RN to Ole Miss, Bama, Auburn, or Georgia and Clemson is just an afterthought.
The ESecPN bias is showing through, and anyone who believes it obviously has not followed this kid's recruitment. FWIW, it's between Ole Miss and Clemson. Sure, he may put another hat on the table on NSD, but anyone who knows what's going on here knows that those are the only 2 schools he (not his mother) would actually want to attend.

Don't believe everything you hear from the media. Let the dust settle and see what happens.
re: Did Spurrier take an inappropriate shot at Dabo and Clemson?
Posted by ClemsonTigers1981 on 10/29/12 at 10:40 pm
Spurrier is just as classless as the scum of the earth that crawls around in the armpit named Columbia. Dabo has done nothing but praise Lattimore throughout his time at South Carolina. This event was neither the time nor place, even for a subtle jab. But that whole organization and school is classless, so what else do you expect?

Obviously RN is a great recruit; that goes without explanation. Gallman can play at any program, and be a solid contributor in the near future. Kamara will take some time to develop, but he can be a backup that may gradually find more time as he matures. Nick Schuessler is a walk-on, so no worries there. I think most Clemson fans feel that this new kid is not worth taking a shot on. All that RN said is that it would be a "done deal" if his other friend was offered. He never said he would decommit if we didn't offer. We'll see if Dabo has any backbone as this situation unfolds. Personally, I think he crumbles under pressure.
As a side note, I guarantee you if RN decommitted from Clemson, ANY and I mean ANY school would take him. Acting like your program is too good for the #1 recruit is absurd.

If you've never been to Clemson, it's actually a great place to live and go to school. It has a solid academic reputation, but students still know how to have a good time, and be respectful as well. It's amazing how many people think that everytime we get a decent recruit, that we automatically paid him more (go ahead, cue the Kenneth Page and Mike Bellamy pictures). It NEVER has anything to do with the fact that we have a great academic institution, a beautiful campus, a solid (yet admittedly underperforming) football program, some great traditions that we are proud of, and a coach that although may be in over his head and a bit more enthusiastic than most would like, is doing a damn good job of recruiting and surrounding himself with some of the top coordinators in the country. It's sad that some of you automatically discount Clemson when it comes to recruiting, especially when it comes to a "Clemson vs. any school in the SEC" recruiting battle.
re: Wayne Gallman commits to Clemson

I understand calling me out on Kamara (albeit I think he could pan out and be a solid starter), but Gallman is a highly regarded recruit, with offers from Auburn, UGA, and South Carolina amongst others. And even if RN does not commit to us, we wouldn't pull the plug on his Grayson teammates, a tactic that I would equate to something Saban would do if he didn't get his way. If that keeps us irrelevant, then so be it...but Alabama fans have a lot of gumption to call out the recruiting tactics of other programs.

Granted I'm a Clemson alum and fan, this recuiting battle for RN is far from over, but at the moment, we like our chances with him. Most Clemson fans believe Gallman (now committed), Kamara, and Nkemdiche are ours to lose.

Typical cock logic...you might need our banners because yall aren't going to win any championships anytime soon. By the way when you're pumping my gas, my car takes premium. Thanks!

Y'all are just mad because Dabo is right. When the only Championship banner you have hanging in Billy Brice is the 1969 ACC Championship banner, you have a program issue. Quit riding the coattails of the SEC and support your own program... Oh wait y'all can't because you have contributed NOTHING to SEC football except winning the East once in a down year for the conference.

roadGator, Maybe they just realize Clemson is a nicer place to go to school and you can actually get an education worth something there. BY THE WAY, CJ Spiller, Mike Bellamy, and Sammy Watkins say hi

You can laugh now, but at least they are trying to recruit here in La (more so than previous coaches tried to). They will definitely land Trevon Stewart and IMO also Lorenzo Phillips. Phillips is a "soft verbal" to Florida, which essentially means he will be attending Clemson come signing day.

Gotta give Dabo credit, he is a hell of a recruiter but his coaching leaves much to be desired. I think most of our fanbase would be pay Alabama, or any other school for that matter, to take Dabo off our hands. Yall already took Chris Rumph, who is probably the best Defensive Ends coach in the nation...

Clemson is slowly putting together another excellent recruiting class, while proving that they can recruit in some of the dominant SEC states (i.e., Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and now Arkansas). Unfortunately, we won't be able to be considered a legitimate contender under the reigns of our joke of a coach. :banghead:
