18 wheeler driver here. The quality of person behind the wheel has dropped so dramatically in the last 20 years. The shite I see on my twice weekly trips from Port Allen to Dallas is unreal. Cell phones, tablets, fricking laptop computers propped on the dash with tv/movies/porn playing is nuts.
Some of these companies nowadays hire anyone with a CDL and a pulse. Hell you no longer need to be able to drive a stick these days to get a CDL. Trucking is a sad state in today's world. I'm lucky to work for a company that pays 6 figures and is big time serious on safety. But still I half expect to get taken out by one of these dickheads one day.

The worst part of all of this crap is that nothing will come of it. No one that is in any position of power in Los Angeles and California will face any consequences. The riots will run there course and we won't hear anything else. We all want people held accountable, arrested, etc., but it will never happen.
