Mini Dill Pickle Recipe
Posted by WooooLSU on 5/23/25 at 7:34 am
Anyone have a mini dill pickle recipe they can recommend? My bush pickle plants are making like crazy right now and I would like to try making mini dills this year. In the past I've used Matty Matheson's recipe for spears which are usually great and Brad Leones recipe for whole dill which were just ok. Any tips are appreciated!

They were horizontal. That’s just a screenshot from the video I took.
Anyone ever seen Starlink satellites over LA?

Just saw a string of lights over the sky in Pointe Coupee. Lasted maybe 20-30 seconds and was gone. Looked like about 20 lights in a row streaking across the night sky and only thing comparable I can find online is starlink. Pretty cool to see in person unexpectedly.

Oysters are super easy to identify once you start looking. More than likely the ones you saw today were oysters. Look on any dead standing trees
or old fallen trees a couple days after a good rain. Just google oyster mushrooms LA and you’ll get a good idea of what to look for.

Picked a good bunch after the primitive opener this morning in SE LA.
Flour, egg wash, flour, fry. Can’t beat it.

I know that anxiety is part of the problem and I really try not to worry about it but it's hard to do when your playing with your kids and all of a sudden your legs or arms start twitching like crazy.

Somehow I knew Mingo would chime in with nothing helpful at all but make it about him. It's almost like a bat signal at this point.
Strange Post Covid Symptoms

and not referring to lack of taste or smell. Wondering if anyone has dealt with similar symptoms. TLDR
I had what was most likely Delta end of July 2021. Had a low grade fever for about 8 days, lost taste and smell, and no appetite so lost about 15lbs. Once that ended had tachycardia for about a week afterwards along with insomnia for a couple nights. Went to the Doctor and had EKG done and wore a holter monitor for two days. everything came back normal. blood work was normal other than low iron level. taste and smell came back a week or so later but still dealt with things tasting/smelling off for a couple months afterwards. After that I decided it was time to get healthy so started dieting and exercise and lost an additional 30lbs.
fast forward to 6/1/22. tested positive for Covid again. Felt run down the first day but after that it just seemed like a mild cold for a few days. tried exercising 6/10 but after 10 mins just wasnt feeling like myself. Played golf 6/18 in the 100 degree heat and woke up Sunday 6/19 with a fatigue I have never felt before. Arms and legs felt like they weighed 100lbs. Extremely tired all day. took a nap on the couch that afternoon then went to bed at 845 and slept until my alarm went off. next day still felt extremely fatigued with a soreness in my arms I have never had after a round of golf. Woke up exhausted again the next day. This is when things start to get really weird. Suddenly it was like a switch flipped and I started experiencing muscle twitching all over my body from my toes to the back of my neck. during this first week I would drink plenty of water all day and still felt thirsty. I had no appetite but would make myself eat. Didn't have explosive diarrhea but everytime I went to the bathroom it was straight liquid. During this time I also started with insomnia again that lasted about 2-1/2 weeks. The extreme fatigue lasted about a 1-1/2 weeks as well. I also started with a tightness in my calf's that would almost feel like they were about to cramp up but never actually would. It would come and go periodically but usually at rest. Went the the Doctor and all my blood test came back normal but my red blood counts were all on the low end of normal so he suggested possibly anemia as cause of fatigue. No iron test was taken at this time. CPK results were normal as well. He prescribed muscle relaxers to help with the twitching at night but they didn't do anything to help. Also had about 2 weeks where I would get this tingling sensation on my lips and tongue with occasional soreness on my tongue as well.
Once the initial fatigue wore off is when I started noticing my heart rate would suddenly spike while I was at rest. I normally have a RHR of 60 but the 4 weeks after this started it averaged around 72. I can just be laying on the couch at night and all of a sudden I notice it start to race and check it'll be 85-90 for no reason. this is usually accompanied by a feeling like my heart is beating out of my chest and my whole body is shaking when its beating like that. Also had a few instances where I would wake up in the middle of the night with it racing and tightness in my chest and sweat on my forehead. Went back to the Doctor 2 weeks later and he swapped the muscle relaxers with gabepentin to help with the twitching at night and also prescribed propranolol to help with the high heart rate. We scheduled a EKG stress test which I just completed last week and everything came back normal. 2nd blood test were normal again so were Iron & CPK levels.
It has been 51 days since all this started and I am still dealing with muscle twitching all over, random aches and tightness, and heart palpitations. Overall I feel 100% better physically then when this first started but the anxiety of it all is still bothering me. Some days I hardly deal with any twitching and others it is like it is firing on all cylinders again. Same goes with my heart. It'll be back to 60 some days and others won't go below 72 without the propranolol.
I found a few other online forums where people have experienced something similar either after covid infection or vaccination. My doctor tends to think it has something to do with that as well but of course google will make you nervous it could be something else. Any one else deal with something like this or know someone that has? 32yo male 205 when this started.

got you beat. 2 month old twin boys on the 26th and another boy that will be 16 months on the 26th.
like everyone else mentioned, routine is key to survival. its been hell these past 2 months but you get used to it.
one thing we use that is a lifesaver is the Baby Brezza Formula pro. basically a keurig for bottles. couldn't live without it.

3 week old twins at the house here so I understand the struggle and then some.
add in the fact we have a 15 month old and an almost 4 year old and needless to say I am a zombie right now. It feels overwhelming at times but the only thing you can do is take it day by day.

Mushroom ID

These started popping up all over my yard after I cut Saturday morning. looked online and from my armchair analysis I think it may be a field mushroom Agaricus campestris. Any experts that know for sure?

one that went maybe 6".
saw several nice ones in a little cut behind where we camped Friday night but couldn't get them to hit anything. also set a trot line along the bank from where we camped but came up empty as well. Most of the other people we talked to that weekend didn't have much luck either.
As far as campsites go there are plenty along both banks and and on the islands that are alot larger than they appear on the map. There were a few sections to had private property signs but it you continue on you'll eventually come across somewhere that you will be able to setup camp.

Take a look at East Tex Canoes LINK / North of Beaumont. We did the village creek over nighter last year and it was a good time.
It is alot further but I would also highly recommend Rochelles canoe rental on the upper brazos for a longer weekend.
