re: NBA cba negotations: Owners asked for $45 million hard cap

NBA stars have a lot more bargaining clout than NFL stars. This hard cap won't pass. It's obviously a low-ball tactic.

So, MSNBC hates Obama.

This is fact. He follows me around with generic personal insults. I'm pretty sure he is sending me lewd messages on Facebook, as well.
Im just putting it out there.

Is a free-throw shooter allowed to pump-fake in order to draw a lane violation?
Ghost Adventures - is it real?

There's no way, right? I mean, they supposedly talk to ghosts and get attacked by them everywhere they go.
If this is true then it's the most important discovery of mankind, ever.

If the NBA followed the rules, the games would last 3 1/2 hours, and you would see scores along the lines of 67-59
Then why have the rules? Seems the rules are flexible so they can have more control over the outcome and favor certain marketing strategies.
Why is that acceptable to NBA fans? That's like if in MLB star hitters would get a foul ball called as fair even if it clearly was foul.

Why is it allowed? The NBA is getting harder and harder to watch with it's strategic and selective referreeing.
Watch all the calls DWade will get for getting breathed on at home where defenders will literally stand still and not even flinch, yet have fouls are called.

Is it perfectly acceptable for players lined along the key to cross the line into the paint well before the ball has left the shooter's hands?
I replayed a few free-throws last night and paused at release. Players are routinely already in the paint but it didnt get called.

What exactly is/was the Heat's gameplan? They look like an "and 1" team out there, getting out rebounded and out smarted.

How many 6'6-6'9 people were playing at this YMCA in Detroit to be able to say he was dominating ?
Laugh all you want but my husband is 6'4 and there were only 2 guys shorter. 5 guys were around his size and the remaining 8 or so were taller. A few were significantly taller.
ETA: they ran circles around him and he played division 1 in brec/braba.

Who is the Louisiana HS kid this past year that was supposedly freak athlete but just kept getting arrested, so no one offered him and IIRC was arrested the day before or after NSD for breaking into someones house?
I don't know but my husband and I went to a YMCA in Detroit while visiting family and there was a guy probably 6'8, could drain shots from anywhere, super quick, and could get his elbow above the rim. He dominated people his size that were also good. The story was that he was in juvy from 14 to 17 then never graduated high school.

if there's all of these exceptionally talented dudes walking around that could be signed to minimum contracts, i imagine some enterprising GM would have exploited it by now?
I wouldn't bother hiring them. I mean, I'd much rather have a bench warmer/role player that went through the paces and confirmed to society, rather than some thug that I have to go hunting for. I'd imagine that you'd have to sift through 100k ballers just to find one guy that at best would give you 15 minutes a game of averageness.

There was one episode where these rec league guys had to play against the 6'8, 6'9 scrub white guys on Techs bench. and they got destroyed.
Since you're talking about college try-outs I'm assuming the try-out talent pool was limited to people who were enrolled in college. Those kids likely played HS basketball and were mediocre since they didn't already make the team.
It is naive to assume that all elite athletes actually were eligible students in high school, much less college. There's some diamonds in the rough, I'm pretty sure about it. None are going to enroll in college, though.

If the NBA thought they could play, they would probably be on a team or in the D league. I can buy a couple people slipping through the cracks, but I gotta think they have scouts at bigger rec games.
There's tons of great athletes in the hood who were never eligible to play high school ball and thus were not recruited by colleges and thus were never even on the NBA's radar. The thing about basketball is even poor kids from the hood can train/practice basketball everyday, especially if they don't have school or jobs. That's not really the case with football and baseball where most practices need to be organized and paid for.
Baton Rouge has players that can almost hit their head on the rim, are fast, and can drain 3's.. That doesn't necessarily make them NBA material but I shudder to think what talents got left on the table in the larger cities.

There aren't 100 Abdre Johnsons but there's easily 5 guys out there playing Rec ball that could compete in the NBA. I'm talking role players, but not star-level.
