I think that was at least true on EGs part. Dude was trying save himself for when that contract ran out... Nobody tryna risk long term health for a non contending small market.

Idk... with Zion on the court would come with it's own growing pains. Like the fact that he's a rookie he would most likely struggle pretty bad on defense. I think what he was doing in the paint this preseason was no fluke...He will feast down there making us really tough to deal with so maybeeeee would could sneak in but I doubt it

Like Jordan didn't have the same injury that ended Yao Mings career or left Joel Embid a mess... only in his second season in the league man. One injury can be overcome.

I remember reading a story about Griff sitting in on film sessions for the Cavs before he made up his mind on firing David Blatt... Despite them being close I think Griff will def keep a close eye on him...

Either way I see him as a transitional place holder coach.

I like this kinda insight. I bet what coach K said about him not being in good enough shape for summer league still rings true to a degree. Kid went from Duke to the circus of endorsements the draft and all kinds off non basketball stuff

Greg Oden and Derrick Rose come to mind. Greg Oden had one leg shorter than the other then developed a limp from having it corrected as a kid? I think that's the story.

And Drose had a gimp when he walked and his twitchy high flying play style didn't help matters I'm sure. Zion's walk scard the hell outta me first time I saw him walking during pregame at Duke.
