We have 3 spots open , it doesn’t have to be one or the other as long as we can afford both

It’s nuts bc it’s LSU basketball actually doing it . Great to see we are finally showing a willingness to invest that we should have been doing for years

Dude can play , crazy number though , if this happens it seems like we aren’t messing around and the investment in basketball is fully on lol
Except Gates had already proven prior to this season he can win in the SEC . McMahon hasn’t proven anywhere close to that level
Auburn and Tennessee are both football schools that are competitive in baseball and basketball . That’s what this whole topic is about and what people can’t seem to realize LSU can also do instead of picking baseball or basketball . It’s not a either / or it’s a want to be good at both which is very achievable while still realizing football will get most of the attention
Well to start if we look at 4 schools similar to ours in Alabama , Auburn , Florida , and Tennessee . All four are considered “ football schools “ , and they all have current teams ranked in the top 25 in baseball and all four have highly competitive basketball programs that expect to get in the tournament every year . Auburn and Alabama for example had inconsistent basketball programs for years before they decided to “ invest “ in great coaches and have taken off ever since. And they did that and are still competitive in both baseball and football
The only part of the fanbase that wants to “ignore basketball “ are the baseball first fans . They view it as a legit threat to their prize baseball program . At some point our administration is going to do the obvious thing and do what every other school in the SEC has done and start investing tons of resources into the basketball program . It makes no sense not to , with the conference now becoming the premier basketball league in the country . Most good schools realize you can be good at all 3 of the major sports , and we have it easy as we are already established in baseball, which is the most difficult to get going as it has by far the least amount of interest in most fanbases. But the fact is we have a small portion of the lsu fanbase that wants a bad basketball program and was glad to see Wade get fired and is OK with McMahons results bc the threat of basketball becoming number 2 is over for the time being . At some point that will change , it’s just a matter of when

re: NIT Bid possibility

It actually wouldn’t be an embarrassment at all . Most teams have higher expectations than NIT , and there were numerous teams that declined last year . It gives you a chance to start figuring out your roster for next year and finding out who is coming back and who is not . What’s more embarrassing is having guys know they aren’t coming back and deciding not to play and losing by 30 to a nobody . It’s time to end this season and figure out what next year brings
On the ground in Nashville. Vyc and chest are long gone
Chest , Vyc miller , Mike Williams are long gone . Chest isn’t hurt
Chest and Vyc miller are gone after the season , as is Mike Williams
Heard from multiple reliable sources vyc miller and chest wont be back next year . So im skeptical of how hurt they actually are
So chest is out today . Interesting . He played sparingly against Tennessee , seemed ticked off on the bench all second half , there was no injury in that game. We have rumors of teams coming after him this week and now he’s not dressed .
Chest would thrive in a system like Houston or A & M . He was recruited hard out of high school by Houston and also is from New Orleans and went to the same prep school as Chris Cenac . Wouldn’t surprise me to see them come after him
Rob miller looks like a different guy . Really like his strides this year
I’ve said numerous times on here and I truly believe the talent is not as bad as it seems . But if people truly believe we are “ outmatched “ well we are in year 3 and that falls on 1 person
Oh it means a whole lot as long as the same guy is in charge , money won’t mean much
