How's the money?

Im a commercial Superintendent. I love the problem solving and constant changing. Hours are rough, and the stress from relying on suns to perform in order to succeed is rough.

Pay and job security in my market (school building in houston) are top notch. On a path to hopefully get into senior management before I turn 40.

I'll be glad to put the 60-70 hour weeks behind me.
I would have to imagine that if someone in this field didn't want to do this, they could find a doctor alighned with their opinion who would sign the damn glorified permission slip for them.
Went thru this with my parents.

Got kicked out, dropped from insurance, and cell phone turned off.

Took me 3 months of couch surfing before I sold the bike.

This is one of those things where you must go scorched earth. I have had 2 friends die on bikes before they turned 25.

re: Best boresighting kit?

I have the wheeler kit. Bought the boresight and scope mounting kit. Little pricey, but comes with a nice little organized carrying case.

Probably have mounted/boresighted 20+ rifles with this kit at our company camp.
Op that's high as shite.

As some one before said, labor should be around 200/hr with 2 or 3 hour minimum. Parts are less then 150.

If you have the interest, you can bu all the parts you need plus a manual crimp tool from HD for probably less than $300.
I'd put it at a 4. As many others said, the hardest required classes are physics 2, accounting, and business calc.

Tell your kid to put in just a bit of effort getting thru those 3 classes, graduate with a 3.0 or better, and do internships summer after sophomore and junior years.

Starting pay at my company is 73,500 for cm grads. They can be making 100k in 2 years. a good PM is making 120-140 with bonus. Supers get paid more but it usually takes a little longer.

Houston area gas runs 20/ft. Any boring under concrete is an additional 8/ft

Don't do this. You need to maintain at least an inch or two between the house and the wall. Set a post within an inch or two, then screw a picket hanging over the edge of the post to cover the gap.

re: Diagnosing Brake Issue

Posted by baseballmind1212 on 2/17/25 at 6:38 pm
My suggestion would be to take it in.

Issues with brakes are no joke. If a pad and rotor change didn't fix it, then there is an underlying failure somewhere.

Basic Tikka t3 and stock/chassis of your choosing. Will be very light and far under your budget.

Another vote for this.

You can go Tikka action and barrel, and carbon chassis for 2500.

Mdt makes a nice one called the hnt26.

Leupold or zeiss on top with your budget.
Most all of the home cam systems can do this today as long as they have an internet connection.
I have a weatherby in 7mm rem mag.

Hornady precision ammo and an arken sh4 gen2 puts at an moa with 5 rounds at 500.

2 seasons in and it's hit everything I've shot at out to pigs and javelin at 500 yds
Snowing pretty damn good south of Sugarland.
Just started within the last hour

Only way to be sure that all the trapped watter is out of the lines is to blow it out.

If you have a small pancake air compressor, you can buy a fitting that fits a hose bib to blow it out yourself.
My parents lost an aluminum patio cover in the great winter storm of 2010. All I got.

re: Plumbing issue

This is pretty consistent with a mainline partial blockage. You should get it scoped and snaked
I have a similar setup (frick whirlpool for putting icemaker in the door)

We run the countertop icemaker in the evenings, fill the ice bucket in the freezer, and the ice bucket in the whirlpool. I'd the ice bucket in the countertop maker during the evening, fill tumblers out the freezer in the AM.

I also have some backup ice in a big container in outside freezer, but I don't tell the family about it. That's for when we go short on ice.
If you are tech inclined and handy, bite off more than you can chew with a couple videos on the diy permanent Christmas lights.

Wtf.

We don't even want to claim him.
Assuming it's 4 or 5 inch thick concrete, 7 days is reasonable.

We drive 18 wheelers on 6" 3500 psi paving with a good compressive strength test after 5 days.
