re: Will Sloan’s playcalling improve?
Posted by flyingtiger on 10/15/24 at 10:17 am to MrWiseGuy
Nuss is still learning and the play calling will look better as Nuss grows and makes better decisions. There were several times Nuss could have ran for lots of yards instead of throwing the ball away. We saw serious progression from year 1 to year 2 in both Burrow and Daniels. This is still year 1 for Nuss.

All a cap will do is drive the extra benefits back in the dark. Dont kid yourselves…it will never be a level playing field or “fair.” Never was, never will.
re: Damn Burns really crashed and, well..

Burns has already won waaaaaaay more than Fleetwood (who has never won on the PGAT yet). Id say he’ll be more like a Toms or Rose where he will find his moment and win one major. He is still young and has plenty of time. He keeps putting himself in contention, it will happen
re: HVL’s trainer essentially says HVL was lied to by LSU
Posted by flyingtiger on 4/8/24 at 1:10 am to Geaux Guy
Bottom line: there is now a season of tape against elite competition that shows HVL’s worth. No year of transfer will wipe that out. Her WNBA potential is now cast in stone, period. This trainer can cry all he/she wants. Its over. Go sell used car insurance.
re: Say what u want about coach Cal
Posted by flyingtiger on 4/8/24 at 12:58 am to RemouladeSawce
Cost-Benefit analysis says no. You cannot overpay for mediocre results. And that is exactly what Cal has delivered. He has 2 top 10 draft picks on a team that lost to Lsu in the regular season and then bounced in the 1st round of the tournament. That cannot happen to a coach paid top 3 in thhe country. That is Jimbo Fisher level mediocrity. No way you go get that guy.

Ask LIV golf players about what a lack of exposure does to endorsements. If you are not on tv, followers stop following and endorsers stop paying. If playing in the WNBA you might as well start an Onlyfans page bc no one is going to watch womens pro basketball. Just ask Bill Burr about it…??

Bro, this day and age every big time successful program has their people that look out for the brand and their coaches. Dont read too deep. Same at corporations, politics…hell even nation-states.

Still waiting on the Staley apology for cancelling the BYU game BEFORE any facts came out. That sure went away quickly and quietly.

Bama STILL had the number 1 recruiting class last year. Talent is there just not producing.
LSU needs much better DBs and DL….otherwise that great offense is wasted.

re: I am ready to stop all this talk about a Split Title
Posted by flyingtiger on 1/7/12 at 11:08 am to GeauxWarTigers
It's the same as the "LSU will still play for the BCS even if they lose in the SECCG." It'll all be over and moot after we beat the hell out of Bama on Monday. There will be no split title...just some crying Bama fans who will probably still think they have the better team. There is no escaping that conclusion.

In fairness to PF, he has pretty much shut his mouth when it comes to ripping LSU. His fans may be another story, but he has acknowledged that LSU won the game against Bama and is considered the better team. My guess is he will still pick Bama to wing the BCS...but thats just to pander to his audience!

Do any of you remember the talk leading up to the 2007 BCS Championship? There was not a single person on ESPN that picked LSU...all picked Ohio St. Of course we went on to spank their weak asses. It will be no different this time. Les will have the boys ready to play...no doubt in my mind.

...not really. He squandered his opportunities by and large. Plenty of drops, etc. As has been said, these kids get tons of exposure and compete at the combine and pro days...Tolliver was NOT even drafted. What does that tell you? It was not all on the QB in his case.

The Oregon game was scheduled at the beginning of last season when Oregon was ranked in the top 10. Bc they cancelled their games with Tulane. In 09 LSU cancelled their series with Tulane to play a UNC team that was ranked in the top 25 too.
And in 2006 when LSU scheduled TCU they were a top 10 team.
Yep and they are all exactly what I said they are. Solid teams that LSU feels safe playing. Oregon was not expected to a national title contender when the game was scheduled. There's tough scheduling and there is suicide scheduling. If LSU didn't feel comfortable, they wouldn't schedule the games.
That's a bunch of crap. You give LSU's schedulers too much credit. Oreogon was in the Rose Bowl the previous year and were most definitely a national title contender coming out of the PAC 10. The fact is LSU likes playing these neutral site games because they make as much money as a home game with the exposure as a side benefit.

Fellas, unederstand that the admins see what is going on but they work under a different timetable. I'm not an insider but the business side of the house always works at a more deliberate pace than most fans care for. Decisions like hiring/firing coaches, etc. have more considerations than just fan opinion.

re: Why is ESPN saying that the SEC is having a down year?
Posted by flyingtiger on 9/24/10 at 2:26 am to RogerTheShrubber
Yes...the balance of power is definitely in the West. The winner of the UF/USCe game may go to the SECCG but the winner of the West will win the SEC. That makes for less drama than the past 2 years in the SECCG.
The league overall is missing the glamour offensive types. AJ Green is suspended, Bama has not really used Julio yet, Auburn and LSU cannot throw it, no Tebow, etc...so there have not been any highlight makers outside of the power backs which aren't so pretty. Defense has always made this league and it will again this year. Don't be fooled by the media...the SEC is where it always is...on top!!
