Tua and Ruggs were true freshmen backups, it was a 15 yard pass that went 60 yards, Ridley and the tall kid were the starters, Ruggs was like 4th string at that time.
ALABAMA recognizes 1941 NC for 2 reasons. one, they were named Champs by a recognized foundation, but that’s not really the reason they claim that title. That year is a substitute for the 1945 team that went 10-0 , Outscored their opponents 430-80 , and Beat USC 34-14 in the Rose Bowl. The team featured HARRY GILMER, #1 overall in the 1948 NFL DRAFT. And was named champ by a recognized organization. They don’t recognize that year Because Army went 9-0 . Out of deference to THE US MILITARY ACADEMY, PATRIOTISM , AND WWII , Alabama used 1941 as a substitute.

Doubt Cam Robinson plays, Leon Brown was moved from right guard to left tackle. BROWN's replacement at right guard is hurt and is questionable . This is the most banged up team at Bama I can remember,. This ain't the Pac12 so no excuses due to injuries . Next man up. Roll Tide.
