When you have people who have no absolute truth in their life, anything can be the truth.
Read Romans 1. That is what we are seeing.
I will support anyone who exercises their 1st amendment rights, regardless if I agree with them or not. People have sacrificed their lives for that right.
But what we all know is that these rioters and these people who are causing chaos are not out there to support someone who they feel was unjustly killed. They are only taking advantage of a situation. They are as guilty as the officer they are ‘protesting’.
For once, I wish the media would unify. To put aside their ratings, their agenda, their pandering, and rightly condemn the actions of these rioters just as they question the actions of the police.
I know it’s a pipe dream. I know it will never happen.
I just pray that people would be awakened to the fact that all of this is not reality. It is the act of a small contingent of lost people. That we can find healing and peace and unity in our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I pray blessings and peace for all of you. Regardless of political leaning. Regardless of your belief.
God bless

This is actually a very good subject. Given the tradition, the coaches salaries, and the distinct budgeting and recruiting advantages, the fact that State is even in this position is a testament to what Dan Mullen, his staff, and the administration has put together.

Live in mobile. I'll be there.

6-6 in year 5 with your coach is pretty good... Respect.
In the era of modern football, this is an accomplishment. I'm generally very happy to go to bowl games. That's just reality. It's not like State has this illustrious football history.

It's baffling
Rivalry games are generally pretty important, but winning one to go to a bowl game is certainly something extra. How is that baffling? :dunno:

Opened a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue from birthday. Normally just drink the Black.

It all comes down to expectations really.
My point was really this I don't give a shite who it is, as long as we playing our arses off. It pains me to say it, but play with the same effort Ole Miss is. State did that the first couple of years under Mullen. Not anymore.

After being a State fan for so many years, I almost don't give a shite about winning or losing. I just want to see us compete our arses off. Not some idiot chewing his play sheet. I enjoyed 2009 more than any other season Mullen has coached.

I'm not one to expect us to compete year in and year out in the West. I just don't think it will happen. What I do expect is for us to leave it on the field every game, win or lose.
I think Freeze is goofy, but his players have bought into him and his system, and they play their tails off. And he knows how to communicate with the kids and potential recruits. I once thought the same with Mullen. I don't anymore.
There is always excitement with a new coach. I don't know if Hud is the answer, but I know the new car smell now smells like a turd.

The evolution of what used to be said behind closed doors is now on twitter. I fear for the survival of our society.

People have tried to tell the cowbells for years about how shitty Mullen is. It appears as though some of them are starting to accept this as well.
I see what you are saying, but name the last time State went to three straight bowl games, regardless of who they played.
If you were to look at it from a different perspective, Mullen has done a pretty damn good job. He just comes off as an arse.

You must be new here, try not to be so sensitive. This isn't a personal attack on you.
I'm not new here. And you didn't hurt my feelings. I typically just lurk. I just find it funny people were so 'turned off' when State fans were excited about being 7-0.

You can support your team while having realistic expectations..
I would estimate nearly 99% of all State posters had no expectations of beating Bama or LSU. Does that mean they can't still hope and be excited?

I always laugh when I see this. If 'State we're being State', they wouldn't even have been in a bowl game.
re: State's most impressive win in yr 4 of Mullen?
Posted by jjh on 1/1/13 at 3:14 pm
Given the history of MSU football, losing to State is a bad thing.
I will say, if you look at the records of all the teams that beat State under Mullen, not many other teams beat them either.
So basically that means beating the teams you should, win 6-8, and go to a bowl game. For State, that is a good thing. Yes? I mean, I have no aspirations of winning any national title.

Don't be surprised when other SEC fans enjoy your misery.
State fans have basically always lived in misery during football season. Can you blame them for being excited about being 7-0, regardless of who they played? (I never had any expectations of that lasting, but it was still fun).

Judging from everyone's impression of State, any win for State is impressive. Every team and their fan base should be downright embarrassed that they ever lost to them.

I just wish we played with the same intensity as we played with in 2009. I enjoyed that year as much or more than any other year. I'd like to keep Mullen, but he needs to address some things, starting with himself.
