Drove through Hastings a few years ago and it seems like a really nice place. The guy that invented Kool-Aid has donated a lot of money to the town in support.

When the major oil companies started to move out, it gutted New Orleans of its middle class.
Many native New Orleanians stayed, but for the most part, the city was left with the super rich St. Charles Ave crowd and the poorer folks.
A great city can’t survive with that.

Not the same plane, but my Mom’s 1st cousin was killed piloting a PBM Mariner on a training mission during WWII.
Sadly, the accident report blames crew inexperience for the crash. The crew were all just out of basic flight school and there were no experienced pilots on board.

I was at the bedside when a close relative passed over. It was actually very peaceful. He just took one last gentle breath and that was it.
