If Ouray is good, then go out of your way to make a visit there.
Hiking the perimeter trail is great, two awesome waterfalls to see. The town is small, and you can walk everywhere. The pool on the north end of the town is heated with natural spring water. There's mines you can tour. The jeep tour up the mountain towards Telluride is breathtaking.
and I second BV as well. There's plenty to do in both Ouray and BV thats away from the resort town stuff. Rafting in BV on the Ar-Kansas River is far better than pretty much anywhere else in CO

always find their shelters the most interesting part of the show. They all build them so different, but there have been quite a few really good ones.
I agree. My favorite part as well. I wish the show would spend more time on them.
i always like one that is slightly dugout. It can be a lot of work but in the right conditions that is the ideal shelter to me, something that you can use the earth as your insulator. I also think you have to build something you can stand up in, even if you just have a small area where you can stand. You're going to spend a lot of time inside this shelter once the snow starts, so you better make it as comfortable as you can.
I'm also very nervous about these guys making ffreplaces out of wood and mud. I get it will work, but they are going to have to likely reapply some mud every so often as i just cant see the mud preventing the wood from catching on fire when you are using it all day and night for several weeks. I guess there weren't a lot of stones up there for them to build it out of rocks and mud.
very interested to see what Ziga is going to build to store all his meat. Hope he paid attention and got some notes from Roland on how he built his bear proof meat locker. That moose probably has close to 400lbs of meat on it. The next 4-5 days are going to be exhausting for him with everything he has to do with that moose.

That was a great episode.
While that beaver and its fat is going to give Nero a good month of food, Ziga now has enough food to last him until next winter with that moose. He’s got a ton of work ahead of him dressing that huge animal and preserving all that meat.
Love that Nero let that bunny go as well. I’m sure that will put his mind in a real good place for some time. If he can catch more fish and rabbits and have a good cache of them with his beaver fat and meat then he will have enough food to last a good while out there and compete with Ziga and his moose.

Matt Freese feelings are hurt

I dont think anyone thinks any of the guys on the team didn't want to win. We just want to know why you kicked the fricking ground and blew all the momentum we had and any chance we had at coming back in that game with one of the most boneheaded mistakes ever seen in any sporting event.

United States men's national team goalkeeper Matt Freese said he felt hurt by the backlash following the team's elimination from the 2026 World Cup after losing 4-1 to Belgium in the round of 16.
"It's just so difficult for me to hear that because if people were to see this group on a day-to-day basis and spend time with these guys more personally, they would see how badly we wanted it. They would see how bad I wanted it," Freese told ESPN on Tuesday.
"Two years ago, dreaming, like literally dreaming of this, and feeling the honor and the responsibility that comes with it. We wanted it so badly, more than anything else we've ever wanted, to capitalize on that and reward that support with something special. During the World Cup and the months leading into the World Cup, there was literally nothing else that crossed my mind."
quote:
"The desire and will to maximize our performance was so strong it hurts my heart to see that people don't know that because it is true. I wish I could talk to every person personally and individually and explain this to them and tell them this."

Just to inform all of you, last year's offseason had 19 trades completed outside of the draft day trades.
17 of those 19 trades were completed by July 13th.
the 18th trade was on August 15th involving Haywood Highsmith and 2nd round picks.
the 19th trade was on September 15th involving Kobe Bufkin, who's now on our summer league team.
Talk about some really significant trades happening after early/mid July. The last significant trade happened on July 8th with MPJ and Cam Johnson.
2024 was somewhat similar. Last significant trade happened on July 8th. The KAT trade happened on October 2nd.
you can look at most years and the last significant trades happen in that early to mid July time frame. Big blockbuster trades may happen late september early october, like KAT to Knicks, or Lillard to Bucks, or Mitchell to the Cavs.
So don't expect anything to happen here. Lebron isn't being traded. He's being signed. There aren't any other big stars left that are expected to be moved. If we were going to trade anyone, it would have happened already.

It was on "sale" for $1.69/lb last week. Monday i saw it on sale for $1.49/lb.
Now it's $.99/lb? I guess i'll wait another few days until it gets to $.49/lb, which is where they had previously been putting the sale at over the last few years.

I was literally walking last week and saw a mockingbird chasing a hawk and was thinking why is that hawk flying away from that mockingbird. Just turn around and kill it. I kept walking and came back about 20 minutes later to the same spot and I see a hawk in the road and it’s tearing up a mockingbird to pieces. I enjoyed it. frick mockingbirds.

Why would you have Boyz II Men and have them sing a Jackson’s 5 song?
And I love Ray Charles America the beautiful song. One of if not the best sung songs of all time. Plenty of people have sung that song but nothing comes close to his version of it. That song and fireworks and kids on bikes was really cool. They should have dug up some of the actors from the Sandlot to ride out as well.

For me it was a combination of things Stevie G - we barely used to get some champions league games here on tv years ago (90s and early to mid 2000s) and didn’t really get league games. And I liked watching some. I liked Liverpool among a group of several teams I enjoyed watching but never had a favorite. SG changed that. The passion and energy and the goals (what a hit!). By the time I came across a highlight video his top goals Liverpool was must watch tv for me.
Same here.
For whatever reason i gravitated towards Gerrard in the early 2000's and at some point became a Liverpool fan over the years. I just liked how a lot of the guys from those 2000's teams played. Xabi Alonso, Mascherano, Carragher, Kuyt, those guys were bulldogs on the pitch, which is also why i'm still irritated we didn't keep Luis Diaz. You've got to have guys like that on your squad. guys that will go 100% all the time and never back down or give up.
For whatever reason i didn't like ManU or Chelsea, and had no knowledge of the history of Liverpool and ManU back then. I did like Arsenal b/c of Henry and Van Persie but i stuck with Liverpool as my club to cheer for.
