This is what’s so dangerous from a precedent setting standpoint. It proves that if the powers that be have an axe to grind, they will exercise those powers at will and do whatever they want. Even showing complete inconsistency in its application of its own rules and a member is powerless to stop it. Member universities in the conference should be extremely wary of what’s going on here but they can’t see beyond their hatred if all things lsu

Well they had the housing projects back then and a lot of the bad crime was in those locations. Not all of it but I recall the news daily reporting on crime incidents in the projects. Those ain’t dere no more so crime is now more randomly scattered

I was there too. I’d go again. The band was very tight. I noticed the sound crew messed up a couple of times but nothing long lasting.
My only gripe was their choice to give the keyboard player Rick Wright’s vocals on Time. I understand the keyboard angle but his voice was just not right for that part. Very whiney.
Besides that I was pleased with the entire production. I’m hopeful they are able to eventually include a quadraphonic sound system at some point to provide the full Floyd effect

Recs for quiet Florida gulf beach?

The wife wants to stay away from the busy touristy locations so I’m trying to figure out where some quieter, less populated beaches may be on the Florida’s gulf coast (preferably panhandle if possible but willing to look at peninsula too).
City Cafe has a tasty seafood gumbo. Would be better if they had more shrimp and crab in it per serving but flavor is excellent

I remember my mom taking us kids to Major Video in Metairie the day Top Gun was released for purchase on VHS. The store replaced most of their rentals with Top Gun. Every wall was basically covered ceiling to floor with it. The line out the door was impressive

Those were pretty pricey speakers or high end audio components. It begs the question how the packages are treated in the trucks and during transit when no one is watching and there’s no cameras

General curiosity - what are some of the best mastered recordings (old or new) that would be excellent demo reference material to audition a system? I’m looking to test the soundstage and imaging of a 2-channel system and want the best material to use
