re: The Problem with SEC fans.

How does a BSU fan celebrate a BCS MNC?

They put down the XBox or PS controller.

:spank:
First off there is no way you will get 2011 AND 2012 BCS MNC victories with Les 'the hat' Miles as coach.

Secondly, I love how one of the LSU posters already has 2011 and 2012 in their signatures.

I have always thought that the LSU fan base has to be the most like the bamer fanbase than any other one in college football and this just validates that train of thought.

Auburn does play dirty and oregon fans found that out during the game.

For the record the only 'dirty' play was Eric Smith's non-sense. If you watch the tape, you can see where Eric gets blindsided by Oregon a little bit before his dirty play.

The face mask thing on the ground would have been a 5 yarder when that rule is in place and Auburn learned that move from LSU.

re: Michael Dyer was down

Since the rule book doesn't appear to define "hand" and "arm", it is a judgment call right?

If so then the hand/arm wouldn't be reviewable in the booth right? But the leg / angle would be?

IMO:

Wrist = part of the arm
Palm = part of the hand

I think that his PALM was making contact and thus he wasn't down.

Any coach coulda won it with cam newton

If newton is a 'one man team' why even field the other 10 players on offense? I can't believe this train of thought is still going on after the MNC / BCS game last night. Do you even know who Dyer or Adams are? Auburn's offense is not a one man team. Granted the O is much better with newton, don't over look the other decent players on the team. :banghead:

doesn't have to worry about our NC being tossed in the trash.

No one has ever won a NC in NCAA football, it is mythical. Normally you would just dismiss me as being an Auburn fan with no MNC to claim. I post this now (right after the BCS victory) so you know that my story on the MNC hasn't changed the day after the game. :booboo:
You really think a story from yesterday is not German? really?

This story was on Birmingham NPR this morning and local TV this afternoon. So from my perspective it isn't from yesterday. Also, I stopped reading the rumor filled 500+ page thread of non-sense on this.

Ok conspiracy people, here you go!

I dislike the Fagship, but they aren't getting shite called for them.

OSU has been holding up front all night long. Finally got one called but the head ref missed it.

Yep, SEC gets screwed (by out of conference ref's) in most bowl games.

If Petrino doesn't run the ball for at least 65% of the game from here on out, he should be flogged in public by Houston Nutt

I totally agree but his problem is that the plays went in streaks of run run run then pass pass pass.

He needs more randomness in the tempo.

I don't think it's a down yr

Perception is that since Fl and Bama was 'down' that the whole conf is....wrong IMO

Lol, this is good to hear from the LSU fan base. I thought this was mainly an Auburn fan's perspective.

BTW, I don't think Alabama was 'down' because they are as talented and relevant as ever. Now Florida on the other hand . . .
Ok guy's so what do you think, is the SEC down this year compared to last year?

Please quote some stats to support your position. I will get the ball rolling.

2009 | 2010*
Teams with 10 or more wins: 2 | 4
Teams in the AP top 25 : 4 | 4 **

* 2010 stats are as of 1/1/2011 @ 4:47 PM with some bowl games left to be played. All 2009 stats are from the end of the season (after the bowls).

** South Carolina lost and isn't included in this count because they are 19 now and are assumed to drop out of the top 25 in the next poll.

You're relying on your memory of an announcer stating what he thought he saw.

Negative Ghost Rider. I have the game in HD and I went back and watched the segment in question. So lets be clear this isn't from my memory.

It's funny you think one hand under a knee means that no other part of Green was down, when it's clear most of his lower body is on the ground with the ball securely tucked in his arm.

I love how you point to one frame from the video. There is a reason the review booth uses full motion video instead of just individual frames. If you watch the multiple video replays, you can see the ball bobble before he totally loses it or comes down. You can't exactly see this lack of possession in a single frame.

Looking at your screen shot - because of the way his body is bent, his left knee is facing up and clearly not in contact with the ground like his left heel is.

Then his right knee hits Stephens hand before the ground (check out the other angle reply NOT in the screen shot below), that is how the review booth couldn't over turn the call on the field.

OK????? That proves nothing.

LOL, I hear you ignoring the 3rd party evaluations that don't agree with your point of view.

The fact is that the line judge ruled /thought Stephens hand was under his knee and that the ball came out before the other knee came down.

We all have good and bad calls in the SEC. Just the facts of life.

LOL what other pic?

Even the CBS announcers said he was fumbling the ball before he was down.

"I thought I saw the ball move" is exactly what the CBS announcer said.
Along these lines, an SEC team has never lost a BCS championship game either so the same applies to Auburn.
Yep and the FBI drops tapes before the iron bowl. :rotflmao:

I mean the week after the iron bowl. :rotflmao:

Those tapes are coming out any day after the SECCG. :rotflmao:

I actually think Oregon's game is a good match for auburn's D and plays to their strength.

Yes. Auburn's D sells out to the run and FORCES you to throw on our 'poor' secondary. Then once you are in a 1-d offense (e.g. pass only) we bring the pressure on the QB. It is only then (usually in the 2nd half) that our D starts getting 'better'.

quote:

If Oregon cannot run the football they will get blown out.

I don't know about a blow out. It really depends on how the 2ndary holds up. If they can't run and only have mild success stopping our offense, then it will be a good game for Auburn.
