re: Those with a gym membership - what are you paying per month?
Posted by stoov on 1/11/26 at 8:30 am to StringedInstruments
Yeah wife and I love it. We’re at the Smyrna location that’s 3 miles from us. 20 miles is way too far. When my old gym closed we went to OneLife and it was 8 miles away and I bitched about that. So happy now with F2020 especially since it just opened from an old space everything is brand new and super nice and clean. I think they’re gonna incrementally increase fees for new members and already have since we joined. It’s definitely worth double or more the price we pay.
Good luck finding something. I heard Crunch is crap too

Fitness 2020 give it a goog
It’s new and only in metro ATL area, just opened one where my old gym was that abruptly closed. It’s $30/mo and is badass. Has plenty of everything I need and use, has an area called PLAE that has classes, has a cinema room with treadmills and cardio stuff. And sauna is hot as Frick. Hard to stay in past 15mins.

More of a logging and tracking your workouts but they’ve had recent updates that have AI workouts built in. I don’t use them but nice to have. The app is $30/yr and well worth it.

Thing is a lot of people associate watches only with a Rolex. I got into watches a couple years ago and have 12 now but most are microbrands that are a few hundred bucks.
Cool thing about micro brands is they have unique designs and use reliable movements from other companies like ETA or Seiko.
It’s a fun hobby and yes it can get expensive but like anything else it’s up to you how much you spend.

No it’s oil made in 5W30, 5W20 and 0W20. Check some YT vids on it
If anyone’s having oil burning or consumption issues try Valvoline Restore & Protect. This oil is like a cheat code for engines. Relives ticking noises, cleans pistons, etc

I’m running Stronger than a Garlic Milkshake right now and really enjoying it. It’s 3 day program and is basically mix of full body for each day (though it’s mostly upper). Usually starts with a compound like dead or squats and then goes to another like bench or bent over rows. Then supersets some shoulders and biceps and has a finisher superset arm focused.

re: What Luxury Watch Are You Sporting Today?
Posted by stoov on 11/25/25 at 3:30 pm to ThatTahoeOverThere
None of mine are luxury but I love my watches. Today it’s Hamilton Murph
Just finished Starter Villain by John Scazli and now reading Amos Decker book 2 series by Baldacci called The Last Mile. Memory Man was book 1 and really good
Hello? Has nobody heard of Manscaped before? They make a trimmer specifically for your balls.
Not a series but I went thru a few Crouch books. Re read Dark Matter then went to Recursion and Upgrade. Those were both really good. Recursion I liked better but Upgrade was still enjoyable.
A quick read I just finished today was Starter Villain. Hilarious and a fun quick read
Doing the Memory Man series by Baldacci on book 2 now.

Have a 2019 Laramie 5.7L and it’s the best truck I’ve ever owned. Interior is super comfortable and nice. Great smooth ride. Highly recommend
re: An HOA is trying to protect its neighborhood during Halloween...will this work?
Posted by stoov on 10/30/25 at 7:46 am to ClemsonKitten
My neighborhood is one of the sought after neighborhoods for Halloween. We’re just an average middle class neighborhood but lots of kids and Halloween here is awesome. We get an influx of outside folks driving in packing their cars and going ham but what we’ve done over the last few years is make sure our kids go out early and get their candy fill and then we all end up running out before the main influx arrives. Seems to work well that way. Cuz I mean at some points it’s like a Chick fil A drive thru trying to get into the neighborhood. Pretty ridiculous
Jays was the GOAT back in the day. Would see him prepping when coming home from night out as a teen

MP79 out of Nola (changed name to Jakkmove at some point) sounded like RATM - fun dudes we used to play with all the time
Punch People as OP suggested - drummer was sick!! Played a ton with them too
Smack - recently found the old cd I had of them. Awesome band
Static- sounded like Hum - really cool band but this was late 90s and we were young they only played like American legion halls I can remember
