"Just because LSU has played teams with higher ranking doesn't mean they have played a tough schedule."
Huh?
Huh?

It doesn't matter where you are ranked in the early biased polls, or where you are ranked when you play somebody. You count only the poll of the latest week, since that shows how good you've really played!
Bama has played ONE Top 25 team!

Quit acting like Bama is unbeatable! They have played ONE (count 'em - ONE) Top 25 team, Miss. State. We have played THREE Top 16 teams - Florida, S. Carolina, and Texas A&M. I have no clue how our pitifully inept offensive plays can beat Bama's defense, but I will not give up before we fight in the game and will not succumb to any fear. If that's the case, why ever play anybody ranked higher than you? Come on - show up and give it your best on the field and in the stands! Go Tigers!

If Bama beats Auburn and Wisconsin beats Penn State......
...it is probable that Bama would have beaten only ONE Top 25 team this year!!!

If you're getting in around brunch, then I would skip traditional Thanksgiving lunch. You'll be too tired. Catch some sleep when you arrive and go eat a good meal Thurs. night at a Louisiana restaurant. Most of the restaurants mentioned are great, but pricey if you're in a daze. Y'all might prefer a cool local place with a good vibe the night before the game. The Chimes (LINK /) would fit that bill. Decent Louisiana selection, enormous amount of beers, game atmosphere, and at north gates of campus. Just a thought for a holiday night (if they're open.) Will check some more openings for you. Can take the shuttle from your hotel to stadium for $1.75, but you'll probably want to go early anyway to soak up the atmosphere, so you can find a place to park. (Early for LSU games is much earlier than Big 10. Remember, a lot of people go the night before and party.) Email me at louismex25@yahoo.com and I can look up what might be open on Thanksgiving evening for y'all.
Let me ditto: go to the Student Union, walk around and tailgate and tell people this is your first LSU game, team and band coming down Victory Hill, and pre-game are musts. Have fun and laissez les bons temps rouler!

re: "Neck" and the arm wave
Posted by BayouLeTigre on 9/10/11 at 1:13 pm
Watching my Tiger brethren try to dance to Talkin Out the Side of Your Neck and yelling "Suck that tiger dick" has certainly become one of the most embarrassing moments for LSU, more suitable for a Wisconsin-type crowd. I mean, don't we have so many better traditions or couldn't we even think up our own? How sophomoric can you get? No wonder gameday isn't half as crazy or loud or interesting as it used to be. Fortunately, the Tiger Band can really play that tune well, but when you go to other college games, they are all starting to play the same songs. Just an opinion.

Ala Tide, you've come the closest to the correct pronunciation - matt-tyou, even though his family probably uses mah-thew. Thanks!
Recruiting effect of Texas A&M's entry

I would be interested to read Tiger fans' thoughts on Texas A&M entering the SEC re recruiting. I love playing them and love their tradition, but how would this affect our recruiting in east Texas and other things? Is SEC being too greedy? What's the point of expanding since no one else could combine to be a better conference than us anyway? Would be interested in hearing other viewpoints - thanks and Geaux Tigers!
