re: AC System Moisture/Mold Issue
Posted by damonster on 3/13/25 at 11:43 pm
There is always going to be some moisture with an AC unit. It’s just the nature of them and being so humid in LA. We have 2 units. One downstairs and one upstairs in the attic. The one in the attic can get like 120+ degrees in the summer. The environment is just conducive for mold growth. The uv lighting just kind of evens the playing field and keeps the units clean. Good luck!

You probably do have a moisture problem that definitely needs to be addressed, but UB lighting is a pretty cheap investment to keep your units clean. We have a remi halo lights on the plenum side of the air handler that is supposed to naturally create peroxide that cleans the ducts. It also is supposed to cause any dirt/dust particles to clump up and become heavier which keeps the junk from floating in the air. We have noticed a difference with this system. We also have a cheaper uv light shining on our coils to keep them clean. They were only a few hundred dollars and we’ve been pleased so far.
re: autoimmune gastritis what do you know

Could it be a possible gluten allergy? Reading all of this sounded really familiar. A friend of mine spent several years going to all sorts of doctors trying to figure out why her stomach was always hurting. Turns out it was a 2 fold issue. She can not eat gluten which is very difficult in itself, but also her pylorus wasn’t allowing her food to drain right. Basically breakfast was sitting all day long causing the gastritis. Ultimately had to cut all gluten out and about every year or so has to go in and have Botox injected into her pylorus to allow it to relax and allow her food to drain properly. I feel for you because this issue is very difficult to figure out. I never would have believed someone needed Botox injected into their stomach, but it works. Doesn’t cure everything, but does help with the gastritis. Good luck.

I’m gonna keep trying but I removed the espn app and downloaded it again. Had to login again and it’s still telling me media not allowed.

I just logged into my YTv account from the espn app and it’s telling me media not allowed. Shows it’s on SEC Network+. Anyone else having problems with it?

re: Best way to clean mold from residential AC evaporator.

AC tech cleaned our coils with some type of chemical and a brush. Not sure what the chemical was but it stunk quite bit. This got the majority of it off. Then we installed UV lighting that is supposed to keep the coils clean.
re: Mold growing underneath shower caulk

I appreciate it. I thought so, but when it comes to glass I don’t really know too much. It looks simple enough until something goes wrong.

I’d like to piggyback off of this thread as I have a similar problem with mold behind the clear silicone in a glass enclosed shower. Our curb is made of quartz and the glass sits on top of the quartz. Where the quartz and glass meet, there is a bead of silicone all the way around the curb. I have a section of the silicone closest to the shower head end of the shower that has mold growing behind the silicone. The bead of silicone also goes around one of the clips of the shower glass. Would I run the risk of messing up anything if I scraped that bead of silicone up, treated and cleaned the moldy area, and then put new silicone down? I’ve always been nervous because of the glass and that clip. If something went wrong, I’d be pretty screwed as I wouldn’t know how to fix it. Is this something best left to the glass people that installed the shower glass?
re: Is PayPal or Venmo the best way to pay someone for tickets?

Obviously, I can just hang up and keep the money but then any reputation on here is ruined. I would avoid buying tickets from new accounts with little to no posting...
I’ve had several replies through my email address, but no one actually posted to the thread so I really don’t know whether the people selling are legit or not. Do you have any suggestions?

I instantly transfer the tickets over.
It has been a while since I’ve had tickets transferred to me electronically through the lsutix website. I logged into my account and saw a button for “transfer tickets” but it looks like that is more for the seller. It doesn’t really tell me how to receive them or what the process is. Do you know how that works and what information I would have to provide the seller in order to have the tickets transferred to me?

I have someone wanting to use either Zelle or Apple Pay for some tickets. I don’t use either of them, but my wife does. Are either of these safe ways to transfer funds? The seller would then transfer tickets through lsutix

We definitely want 3 but possibly 4 if available. Daughter has friends at gym and she would like to invite a friend to go with her.

I’d like to get tickets to a single meet for my daughter for Christmas. We usually try to go to at least one each year. This year the only ones we couldn’t make would be the Iowa State or Florida meets. I haven’t seen any posted this year and I really would like to avoid seatgeek and their crazy prices. Does anyone have any that they’d like to sell for a single home meet?

Need 3 out of these WRs
Brown, Nabers, Samuel, Reed,
Who would you start?
I’m starting McCaffrey and Achane as my 2 RBs.
I have Swift and Javonte as my remaining options. Who would you flex out of those 2 or one of my WRs above?
