re: I'm Not Excited About The NCG

I love to hear the confidence of the LSU fans. It shows that deep down inside, they suffer from insecurity.

Knowing back in Nov, the OTHER team made all the plays, but also made all the mistakes. They won, but it was not because they controlled the game.

Something no one is talking about is AJ McCarron coming into this game having seen LSU already. This will be a HUGE difference on Jan 9th and close the QB experience gap.

Bama will get into LSU scoring territory more than 6 times this game and capitalize more often.

If I were an LSU fan, I would worry about gaining more than 12 total yards in the first half like they did against GA, because they will not cover ground on Bama. Bama's D gets tougher as the game moves on.

LSU saw Bama's worst game this year...they are about to see their best. Keep gloating if it helps... I know Bama loves to hear it.

Just my thoughts...

Big 12 vs. SEC matchups

Posted by GPCBAMA on 12/5/11 at 2:08 pm
With Gundy talking about matching a Big 12 offense vs. an SEC defense, I thought it would be cool to present hypothetical matchups between the conference teams in order, with score...

Mark May said it best, against LSU or Bama, OSU's offense wouldn't get the ball for much of the game anyway, because their lines would be crushed. QBs aren't a factor when you can't win the lines.

Here's the breakdown...

OSU 11-1 vs. LSU 13-0 OSU 17 - LSU 42
KSU 10-2 vs. UA 11-2 KSU 10 - UA 35
Bay 9-3 vs. ARK 10-2 Bay 35 - Ark 49
OK 9-3 vs. UGA 10-3 OK 17 - UGA 28
Mizz 7-5 vs. USC 10-2 ..don't need to go on

Gundy's point is stupid.

Big 12 would average about 22 points per game against the SEC.

Weeden would not make it through an entire game against the LSU or Bama defense. Seriously.

Perspective on LSU & Bama

Posted by GPCBAMA on 11/27/11 at 2:48 pm
In 2009, Alabama became the first team to defeat 10 bowl teams in one year, finishing a perfect 14-0.

This year, an even more dominant Bama team is the only BCS conference team to outgain every opponent by a decent margin, but was defeated by a very, very good and opportunistic LSU team at home. LSU deserves their ranking, but is not a BCS champion until they can prove to defeat the 2nd best team in the country coming out of the season and finish 14-0

Bama is 2nd not because they whined about it, it's because no one else is better, so says everyone who really knows college football. Rematches are not a factor in conference championships, so why would the BCS be different? Anyone who doesn't like it is biased. Any LSU fan who doesn't like it knows deep down inside what is going to happen in Jan.

LSU- you need to go 14-0 to win the BCS just like the last two teams did, but deep down inside you know that crystal trophy is staying in Bama!

Just like the last 12 games, Bama will be dominant on both sides...

Bama has a much better schedule this year and the defense will be extremely stingy. The ballhawking secondary should mitigate turnovers from a new QB.

Tier 1- LSU & BAMA (these two are way ahead)
Tier 2- ARK, USC, FLA
Tier 3- UGA, MSU

The rest will have losing conference records.
The reason Bama is #1 Preseason has very little to do with offense.

10 starters return on a defense that finished 3rd in the nation in scoring D. By the end of the season, there was no defense in the country better (not even close).

Even more - there are two D-line recruits coming from HS and JUCO that will be jaw-dropping good.

It will be difficult to favor any opponent in 2011, if Bama need only score twice to win.

Him and T Rich should form a very good power duo next season.

Any speed/scat type backs on the roster?

Don't forget about Blake Sims.

This represents the lag in players leaving early. All teams should be stronger if there is no draft. I don't really see an advantage for anyone. Just a higher level of competition.

This is VERY true.

You're right, Miss. St. might be a tough one next year.

Bama's 2011 roster if no draft

I had no idea how young Bama is!!! LAWDY!

We only graduate 4 starters on O, D, & ST.
Only 7 players on the entire depth chart.

GMac -(1)
Luther Davis - (1)
James Carpenter - (1)
Preston Dial - (1)
Earl Alexander - (2)
Chavis Williams - (2)
Brian Motley - (3)

Now THAT would be a great team and a great schedule.

Don't you all think that if there were nothing, I repeat, nothing to come of this, then a rep from the University would release an official statement.

Have we EVER heard so many people say "No Comment" before total and obsolute exhoneration (sp)??

Something is up and the longer this goes, the worse I would think it is.

Furthermore - if Newton was eligible at the very least, wouldn't they hold a press conference and put an end to all this???

No Comment = Guilty

The person heavily involved in funding was YellaFella and the investigation includes Newton & Dyer, possibly more. (all hearsay from my circles)

They (the NCAA) have more than enough info already, but since the FBI is involved, this is much bigger than a college football program, so no one is talking.

Outlook - bad.

Thanks... I even hated to write what I heard, because I usually don't believe it anyway.

Just another angle to consider in all this

I would never jeapoardize my inkling of cred by throwing crap out there, but...

Our neighbor has some very close friends close to the program and she told us accurately that something much bigger was going on several weeks ago.

Turned out, the FBI is involved.

She said it also includes Dyer and even may have to do with the reason the program settled on Chizick in the first place....and mentioned the dude that does those lumber commercials as being heavily involved.

I thought it was all rumor when I heard it, but so far so true...

I hate to even say it, becuase I don't want to start anything, but it's been dead-on so far.

It would make sense that this could be part of something much bigger.
