Was before my time by a few years, but “Nice beaver, nice beaver, you know how to use it” sung to the BeeGee’s Night Fever.

I was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) El Toro in Irvine at the time, and I remember being confined to the base just in case they needed a bunch of air-wingers to save the day. Nothing happened of course, but only because they likely knew that we Marines were bigger liberators (looters) than anyone rioting up in LA, and not a single one of us was sober.

Bring in more immigrants is the only solution [said in as sarcastic of a tone as humanly possible]

I’ve noticed that too. A LOT of knock off Chinese crap is what you typically see now for non-food or named item searches.

Had lunch with Brooke Shields. I was stationed in Bahrain with the Corps (air wing) during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. She came by the Bahraini cafeteria where we were allowed to eat. She was with the Bob Hope show. She sat at the table across from me. I was quietly eating with my head down, and she sat down in front of me and said “hi.“ We started chatting while we ate lunch. It was pretty damn surreal.

re: How concerned are you with something being BPA free or not?

I am fairly religious about it, but whether it is a real concern or not is something I will likely never know. But anything that MAY adversely affect my Testosterone is verboten.

When I was in the Corps, we went on a float and spent three days in Hong Kong in 1993. Found a bar that had an old time rag time band. We pretty cool.

I don’t think my dog likes the new mattress for the bed that he sleeps on in the front spare bedroom. The eternal struggle continues.

Some grueling fights took place as we moved into Germany. While Fury has a lot of inaccuracies, the grind that the soldiers found themselves in was accurate. There are many books that cover this time period that show how rough it was. I just finished a two book set about the Fourth Armored Division, and a book of an soldier who was armored infantry in the Second Armored, and I not expecting the level of fight that remained in the Germans.

Which 10%? The 10% who spend most of their day on social media and who lose their shite if WiFi is not free. Yeah, talk about the man with one eye being king in the land of the blind.

I have to go with radio operator. Slightly more aircraft between you and the Luftwaffe depending upon the angle of attack. Bit, it would not matter much against a 20mm shell.
Plus, I recall that the radio operator had the easiest egress through the bomb bay. I think that I have the bailout procedures in the old Impact series.

re: Baton Rouge nostalgia thread: Babbage’s in Cortana Mall…

I remember the one at the Acadiana Mall. I can still remember waiting for my pre-order of Baldur's Gate. I was scheduled to be off for the next three days for Christmas (I think), but the arrival was delayed. I remember spending all day at the mall looping back to Babbages only to be told that "the truck had not arrived yet." At my last trip by Babbages that day, the security gate was half-way down, but there was a line outside the store!!! The truck had arrived, and I grabbed my game.
A little off topic, but it is as a habby Babbages memory.

re: Anyone else get an email this morning saying ESPNPlus is adding HULU?
Posted by Cajun Tifoso on 2/3/25 at 12:26 pm
Disney is requiring this for Disney+, ESPNPlus and Hulu. As they are technically now under the Disney+ banner, Disney can us the viewership numbers from the other two to bolster Disney's failing streaming platform. Hell, Disney+ is getting beat by Tubi for viewership numbers.

Not sure of what method I used - took about six months - but I had been advised to keep him calm. And being calm is NOT his natural state. I kept him in a crate and on meds to keep him calm. I had the same worry, but we cut out walks and I kept him on a leash when he went to do his business. He normally has free run of the fenced in yard. He did occasionally get the zoomies, but I was able to catch him and calm him down. Good luck!!
