Duhe finished the championship game hero.

Okay dude... being that I know one of these guys personally. But you got it!

quote:That is bullshite. Sorry to tell you. Look the 2004 championship with Duhe and the 2007 run with Delatte. While he did use other pitchers, he rode his stud even when it did not benefit them to the least bit.
There have been schools to use one pitcher for 4 or 5 of the playoff games in a 10 or 11 day span, but Coach Lemons never did that. That's a fact.

And Jarrt or whatever the frick it is, I'll trust first hand accounts of Bob Lemons from the people I went to high school with than hear say from you and your Legion friends.
So the words that come directly from their mouth is not first hand accounts?
quote:I do not know the man but I am going to say that you have never played for him. Maybe you know him personally but you have not experienced him in that setting. So don't sit here and try to defend the man when you have not a clue what is going on because you don't. The success out of Donaldsonville has pretty much paralleled what has happened at St. Amant to. Nothing.
JartFart Do you know the man? I would say you do not. Then quit hiding on here bashing a man of such high integrity. You from Donaldsonville. A lot of good baseball there in recent years lol.

Believe what you want dude, but I had nothing to do with St. Amant. I went to school in Donaldsonville. When I played legion, that is what the guys told me about him. I have never heard anyone say anything good about him other than the people on here. From what I am hearing, this had nothing to do with his baseball knowledge but about how much of an a-hole he was. And not like ripping kids asses, a-hole, but fricking with their heads. So you might want to get your facts straight ****.

Two of those championships were before Dutchtown and those teams were loaded. Having Reid Brignac helped win that third one. Then riding Delatte until his arm fell off for the semi-final appearance was disgusting. So, I would say above average is about right. A retarded monkey would have had a hard time screwing up what Lemons was handed.

No, I did not even go to STA. So no problem there, but guys I played legion with from there said much worse than what I just posted. Look at Kenny Guillot. Constantly wins with little talent. Lemons was trash. Outsiders just looking in at what he has done not all of the talent that went through those schools when he won those championships.

Lemons was a first class prick. He was not a good coach, he merely manages talent. When STA doesn't have it they suck, when they do they are above average. Lemons deserved what he got.

Got ya. I was just trying to substantiate my claims.

The fact that you responded directly to my post.
re: Is Eli Manning ahead of Brees now???

Actually what we were commenting on was the question of how good would Eli be with Payton? I feel that Eli would be better suited to play in Payton's offense in a dome. The guy I was discussing with came up with records for each qb and I rebutted with the Super Bowl concept he seemed to leave off. I can see how this could be misconstrued if you missed what I said earlier. I stated that it could easily be consider luck to win one Super Bowl, but winning multiple ones is a different aspect. So using my logic it is different.

No, in this aspect we were comparing Brees and Eli, not all qbs.

I was just trying to get these people to look at it from a different angle.
If you really want to compare them it would take a much deeper analysis. They play in very different schemes. Eli was given a chance this year and he did extremely well. Brees is as good as anyone. But I feel you would have to look much deeper to really compare the two. Honestly I could care less to look into it because it isn't that important to me. Give me either one with Payton in an environment that his offense will thrive, like the dome and I think you would see some spectacular things out of Eli and we know how Brees performs.
Eli also has two rings, which in my book is as proving as anything.

You honestly think that Eli is even on the same level as Brees?

Yea, the more rings logic is bad.
Winning one super bowl could be considered as luck but when you do it multiples times it is a different story. This doesn't happen by mistake.
Eli played great this year and elevated his play when his team needed it the most. Is he ahead of Brees? Meh. Brees is an excellent qb, no doubt about it. He, I believe is one of two reasons the Saints have been so successful over the past years. Payton being the other one.
I'll let these guys play a few more seasons before I would consider ranking them. There are few elite qbs in this league and Eli, with what he did this year, put himself in the discussion.
One last thing, for the people that state how good Brees would be with the Giants D? How good would Eli be with Payton?

You misinterpreted what I said. I just wanted to get the point across that just because someone says "hi" or "hello" or refuses to say "thank you" and "please" does not mean that they are rude/terrible people. We, as southerners, do it because we have been taught to do through our rearing. Many times though southerners do not understand why others act the way they do because southerners are ignorant of societies outside of the ones they live in or associate with. I applaud you for going out and experiencing the world and our amazing country. But just because people are different than you does not mean they are bad. I am not saying that you feel this way either. You obviously have had bad experiences with Mass. people. Sorry for that but Louisiana fans are no better.
Or worse! Had to include that!
