re: Question for Bama fans

It is difficult to acquire a high rated quarterback when you have two back ups for Greg M. that are in competition for the starting job next year. Plus everyone knows that Bama will probably have a situation over scholarships to go around next time this year. I think next year will be a better situation for some in-state talent like LSU has this year. Next years singing class for the SEC should be a great one.

re: Why do people still root for other teams

I think you can only comment on this if your have GRADUATED from an SEC school. My question is what do you do if you have graduated from one SEC school and now you go to another. Do you root for the first school or do you join the popular bank wagon and root for the new team. You pick a school for the education and the opportunities you will receive at the university level because 99% of the people at the university will never see the field. I pull for all SEC teams and everyone else should unless they are playing your particular team. THE SEC IS #1 PROGRAM IN THE COUNTRY.

Not all people that work at LSU are professors. It takes teaching about 12 years to become a professor. There are lots of people like researchers, support staff, computer engineers, finance, and other things that aid the objective of a university. You would know that if you have graced the doors of a university. I apologize for the mispelling so I will spell check my info the next time. Oh wait no I want my thoughts are well thought out. I am by no means making a ill attempt toward Ryan Mallet. I am just tired of all the hype that pertains to the SEC being about him. How good he is going to be when he has poor numbers against good teams, a poor offensive line, a poor defense, hasn't played since the foot injury, poor footwork, and a questionable intilect capable of reading STRONG SEC defenses. I think there are better stories with other programs. I am an Alabama fan by right of birth but I don't hope for other teams to loose especially when it pertains to the SEC. I personally get tired of all the crap that goes on between Alabama and Auburn fans. It gets old sometimes... We will see how great your Ryan Mallet does against a tough defensive line with Alabama, the shut down secondary of LSU, and a ton of seasoned players at Georgia.

I would give Mallet some more credit but his numbers against the ranked teams last year were horrible. Mallet might be great but it takes 11 players playing great for a team to be champions.

Sorry and obvious typo but I have Arkansas and georgia on the scedule for Sept 18. Oh wait at Georgia. Maybe they will try to black Arkansas out like they did Bama. That is gonna be a great game in my opinion for both teams.

I haven't heard anyone saying how great Alabama is going to be. It appears that they will be ranked #1 in the poll starting the season but all I hear about when it comes to Alabama is how many players they have to replace on the defense. All the national coverage focuses on the questionable DB's and kicking game at Alabama. If you think about it on a national level even Mark Ingram hasn't been getting any national attention this off season and he is projected to be a contender for this years Heisman race. I hear it all the time from the LSU fans about their hate for Alabama. It is obvious to me living in Baton Rouge and teaching at LSU that LSU just wishes Saban never left. And I don't blame them. All I am saying is that the SEC has dominated the BCS recently and it is the SEC's time to get some more national coverage for all the schools in the SEC.

I agree that he will have some good numbers later in the season possibly but the Win/lost column will keep him out of the heisman race. I think Alabama football is shunned by the television media. I don't understand it and maybe it was before my time but I think ESPN definately does not favor the SEC especially over teams like USC, Texas, and Oklahoma. That is why I don't care who wins the BCS as long as it is the SEC. WIns mean respect for the whole conference

That is odd considering im not a bammer im a Tiger at LSU. I have an objective opinion when it comes to college football that is not clouded by who is my favorite team. We will se how good your Ryan Mallet is when Alabama's Josh Chapman and Marcel Dareus meet him in the backfield for a meeting.
re: Bama staff not well thought of by Bengals!

This is what happens when you loose focus and become lazy. The bengals should not be complaining because they knew his conditioning level during the combine. If you remember the famous picture of him without his shirt on. That is enough to know he was not the most in shape physical specimen in the league. He ruined his chance in my opinion when he messed with the agent while he was at alabama

I haven't heard any talk other than with Masoli and Ryan Mallet. It honestly pisses me off that Greg McElroy has a giant BCS ring on his finger and a crystal ball in the trophy case and he doesn't get any national coverage. He is very well spoken and normally gives good insight into what is going on with the Alabama program. It is always Ryan Mallet and how great he is gonna be. I think McElroy is gonna suprise some people this year and I even have hope for old Jordan Jefferson next year becoming that leader LSU is looking for so desperately.

Is anyone like me and tired of hearing about how great Ryan Mallet is gonna be. I am so sick of hearing about how Ryan Mallet could possibly win the Heisman this year and how Mallet will take his mediocre team to win the west in the best conference in college football. I think that come December no one will even remember his name. He will be in the same situation as Jevan Snead at Ole Miss. OVER-RATED Everytime Arkansas played a good defenense he was less than impressive in my opinion last year. Alabama destroyed him last year and I expect someone to give hime a season ending injury early in the season. Just ask Colt McCoy. It is hard to be the best when you have mediocre offensive linemen and a defense that ranks nearly last in the conference. So I think all teams will just run the ball for 4 quarters and Ryan Mallet will be sitting on the bench looking like the clueless fool he really is. The same way Erin Andrews called him out when he said "I told you so" after almost beating LSU last year in death valley. He will be lucky if he makes it thorugh Georgio on Sept. 18 without a game ending injury much less thorugh Alabama the following weed. Maybe they should have scheduled a bye weed. I don't think this kid has the mental capability to win the SEC west.
