get the cheapest trail camera or even a broken one and hang it in a visible/obvious area. Then hide another camera up in a tree and aim it at the dummy cam. If he really wanted to go all out then he could get a find a 500$+ dummy camera so then he could charge the thief with a felony. Good luck telling one messican from another though....
Another thing is to build some box blinds so a trespasser couldn't tell if the stand was occupied or not. Of course they don't have to functioning stands but rather they only need to give the thief the uncertainty of someone in them.

ETA Slickback beat me to the dummy camera

re: How important is cover scent while deer hunting?
Posted by postnasaldrip on 11/29/10 at 8:35 am to CajunFootball
I never use it. I think its silly to believe that deer can't smell our human scent because it's covered up by a stronger and usually chemically made "cover scent". A deers olfactory system is too good not to be able to decipher between one scent to another. I also don't want a strong cover scent drawing attention to my own scent that is in the same scent trail. re: Can you shoot bobcats in LA??

I don't think there are any bobcats in Los Angeles. And I don't think its legal to shoot a firearm in the city limits.
ETA, If you are talking about LA as in Louisiana, then yes, you can shoot the shite out of em.

The new rules in Mississippi about being to use a 45/70 and guns like the one you want in the primitive seasons went into effect 4-5 years ago IIRC.
For the past couple of years I been hearing of hunters who have given up their traditional deer rifles (270, 30-06) in favor of those handi rifles for hunting all season long (sans bow of course).
I wouldn't think having a single shot would be a issue at all. All but one of the deer I've killed needed no more than one shot and as far as the one that needed two shots I would've had enough time to reload a single shot and make the final kill.
I personally don't care for the TC you have pictured but if it rocks your boat then by all means go for it.
Bottom line, don't let anyone talk you out of getting it just because its a single shot.
