re: Giant draft bust Rolando McClain returning to cowboys

That's not completely accurate. He has been told by law enforcement and the courts to stay out of Decatur. Every time he comes back he winds up in jail. He probably should still be in jail for his last stunt here.
re: Federal Budget Deficit Widens, Driven by Baby Boomers

Yes most Boomers were relying on SS as their retirement and Medicare to take care of them as they aged. They trusted the government back then. They didn't doubt that they would live up to their word and that their money was safe in SS and Medicare
The fact is that both SS and Medicare would be solvent to today if LBJ hadn't convinced a Democrat controlled House and Senate to roll SS into the general fund to finance the war in Vietnam among other things in 1968. Then Carter made the same move with Medicare in 1978(I believe)with a Democrat controlled House and Senate to pay for things such as The PIK (payment in kind)program for farmers to put their land in "Land Banks" and not produce crops on them to bring commodities prices up. From there it just snowballed and now SS and Medicare taxes are paying for things such as food stamps to immigrants, refugees and sorry arses that won't work. So you can't blame SS payments for expanding the deficit when it is SS that is owed,
Roughly 66% of the National Deficit is owed to the American tax payer from robbing Peter to pay Paul. Every one worries about China but they only hold ~7% of the debt with a total ~34% of the debt being held by foreign investors.

re: Did Auburn Fans really sing Rammer Jammer after the game?

NorthGwinnettTiger,
I hope you know there is a huge difference in one person doing something to make a joke out a situation & an entire fan base telling some one to go to hell. I actually used to wish that AU would have success because we are in the same state. But you know what they about watching what you wish for. Now, I could give a damn less about what happens to your program and I can promise you that we will not obcess over your program the way you do over us.

It is a classless group of fans that; 1)Is so consumed with with our program and our success that they mimick our victory cheer. 2)Tell our program to "Go to hell, Alabama" as their last line.
There are some good AU fans out there, but the majority of them do not know how to handle success. I really can't stand those arrogant (majority of them) AU fans.

Then why was Bama and Auburn not listed?
OK, poor word choice. I should have said "recruited by".

"the Rivers family was still upset about Alabama not recruiting Phillip."
Not true; Alabama and Auburn both offered Phillip, he was told by both programs that he would get a shot at QB but would probably wind up at DB.

I really hate to bump this thread, but there are some facts that both of you either don't know or you are just not stating. Alabama had TWO choices for there HC job, Croom & Shula. Both were career assistants with not so great (poor actually) stints as OCs in the NFL. Shula was thought to be the cool hire; young, good looking (thought to translate to recruiting sucess) and it would sit well with the fan base as most of them would remember his playing time at the Capstone. Croom on the other hand was a disciple of the most iconic college football coach EVER, a strong disiplinarian, and was well liked by the fan base as well. Moore actually WANTED Croom with the condition that he keep the current staff in place for the upcoming season. There were several reasons for that, but the biggest being to provide continuity to the players and ease the transition between coaching staffs and schemes. Croom balked at the idea and basically told Moore that he would bring the staff he wanted with him or he wasn't going to take the job (which at this point hadn't even been offered). Moore tried to negotiate this out with Croom, explaining that it was May, the season was less than four months away and that it would be hard to assemble a staff on such short notice. Croom wouldn't budge. That left us with Shula as the ONLY option to be the head coach at ALABAMA. THE COLOR OF SYLVESTER CROOM'S SKIN HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM NOT GETTING THE JOB!!! Croom gave up his dream job over not getting to do things his way, right away, instead of being patient, letting the storm blow over and then going about assembling his own staff. Shula's undoing was remaining loyal to those assistants far too long.
