ETA: with a contract.

You and all these other people saying that NEXT is a 'bad deal' need to realize that AT&T isn't going to hand you a $900 phone for $400. You're getting billed for it regardless. NEXT is the cheaper way to go 99% of the time.

What iphone are you buying at full cost for $400

Which means I am paying 20 dollars or more a month which is their underhanded way of making me pay for the phone indirectly.

But it basically evens out since you get a service discount off of your plan.

False.

Your bill would stay the same. HOWEVER your line access would be $40 for 24 months.

I'm no mathematician but $40x24 is $960, $200 for the iphone, and the activation fee is $1200 for 2 years.

Crazy Horse III was my go to, back in the day, when I went to my monthly Vegas business trips.

I went to the Verizon store...and AGAIN they will have a replacement phone sent to me, but I wont have it until Tuesday at the earliest.

I really thought that they would try to help me in the store in which I bought the phone...maybe provide me a replacement phone right then??? Not have to wait until one is shipped from out of state to me..

The problem with this thought process is the retail stores are just that retail stores. Meaning the inventory they carry is for sales transactions. You cant just walk up and get a replacement in store for technical issues. Never could, never will (only under really extreme circumstances can this be done). That is solely what the technical support / warranty dept. is for. Not a hard concept / policy to follow.

I plan to call Verizon customer service to voice my frustration and request some sort of compensation

Good luck. Verizon normally doesn't credit accounts for device defects. But to each his own I guess.

Just trying to debunk the misinformation people put out there, that's all.

A payment to satisfy 100% of the remaining balance on the entire retail price of the device

Again you're wrong. No wonder why you said EDGE is a bad deal you're misinformed. You can definitely pay off 60% / 75% (which ever tier you were approved for) of the cost after 30 days of purchase (or wait 18 months) and trade the phone in to get an upgrade.

It's kind of obvious who I work for. And these statements can be easily verified by asking a knowledgeable sales rep.
That is what insurance is for. You mitigate that risk when you accept insurance.

Also the insurance is highly recommended but not a full fledged requirement. The rep probably bundled the price in with the insurance.
So the way Edge works is, you get a $15 or $25 discount on your plan for hopping onto Edge. Then what you are doing is paying the MSRP of the iPhone over 24 months. It's roughly a monthly charge of $27 (iPhone 6). So no your bill will not go up $30 because it's just about a wash once you factor in the discount. And once the payments are complete you get to keep the $15 or $25 discount saving you more money after the 2 years.

Also there isn't a $40 activation fee, and you save more money upfront by only paying sales tax on the MSRP, as opposed to paying 199+40.

Do the math.

quote:

Edge works best if you have the higher data plans, 10GB+

At the present pricing 6gb+ or higher.

quote:

you can't actually make any advance payments towards that amount.

Also this is false. You can make a payment to upgrade.

frick, I have Verizon but them frickers wont work with you for nothing. My phone is broken and I want a new one now. Upgrade is in Nov, I hate the phone I have now so there is no way in hell I am paying the insurance to send me another when I am getting a different phone in two months.

Is your upgrade on or before Nov 15th? They have a promotional deal where everyone's contract can be renewed early.
Just a heads up, the Moto G is sold for pre paid accounts only. If you have a contract and want to activate this phone, the Moto G had to been activated for 6mo. on pre paid before you can put it on a contract line. Bettet to buy a phone off of CL/Swappa/eBay IMO.

That link is for the "prepaid" right? I don't think that's what I need. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct.

Not necessarily true. There are multiple loop holes around that, where you can upgrade and keep UD. For example, if you have a second line that is on a limited data plan, upgrade through that line. It's not rocket science.
quote:

Well if they are not throttling me

They aren't because the new throttling policy isn't in effect till October.

quote:

why have I all of a sudden been unable to get 4g?

Willing to bet that you need a new sim card. Go to a store to get it swapped out.

quote:

I refuse to upgrade if I am going to continually be throttled once I upgrade.

If you upgrade you will be in contract. You have to be OUT of contract to fit the criteria on being throttled.
