It is a lot of fun. We had suite tickets to Florida-Georgia line, I thought they sucked but I prefer old country and not the new abomination they call country music. Our suite was kind of below capacity, so our bartender was bringing us drinks when we were 1/4 full. I never got up except to piss or get more BBQ.
Make certain that you are in your seats for the Calf Scramble (young teens have to chase these calves around the arena, tie em up and drag them to the center) and Mutton Bustin (4-7 year old riding sheep). The calves took the business to the teens on Wednesday night. One kid was bleeding out of nose and mouth from being trampled repeated by his calf he had tied up. It is a good laugh!

So mid-1880's was clearly before automobiles. What did they use rubber for at this point in time that it was so valuable he was cutting off extremeties for?

Tell me more? My understanding from breweries over here is that it's a family thing. Eventually people realize there's a ceiling because you aren't one of the "godfathers" children and leave.

Do the "paper cup soil test" (in this link called a "coffee cup" soil test).
Thanks, Coastie! I'll try this. Based on recent landscaping I would estimate that I'm not on that strip of sand, there seemed to be a good deal of clay...

Another question- how much is daily rental of the gasoline powered tamper?
For 100-150sq ft patio would I kill my body using a steel tamper mounted to dowel to tamp crushed rock? I'd have to set pavers with rubber mallet.

What area of Houston are you in? Most of Houston has clay with a shrink/swell potential of 10 on a scale of 1-10. (Asa, Pledger, and other similar clays).
West side of the Heights. Do you think I'm better off paying professional?
What do you think based on potential for movement? More crushed gravel? Say 6 inches instead of 4?

I lay pavers on top of paver base, no sand. I use the sand to lock the pavers in place after they are laid.
Interdasting. Everything I've read says put pavers on top of sand. Can you elaborate on your reasoning?
TIA

It looks like an easier DIY project. I'm looking to do small 12' x 12' patio in backyard. No underground utilities in my backyard. Will do 1-2 degree grade away from my home, towards the French drain.
Did you wish you knew anything beforehand that would have made this an easier project?
I posted here bc I figured everyone on this board was more DIY than the OT.

Texas could in one fell swoop eliminate unemployment in the state by giving the U. S. back their lazy, shiftless, good for nothing suckers and then make all the Mexicans here legal to take their place. At least from my experience, those families "work" to take care of their families.
I work in Downtown Houston. I get panhandled/begged regularly. I've never had a Mexican beg me for money. They take pride in their work and pride in taking care of themselves and their families.

In Texas I believe blue crabs need to be 6" across to keep.

Posted by StripedSaint I'd imagine if you sign a spay/neuter contract they would honor the original price. The problem is that every puppy will be shown to a breeder/handlers before being passed over to you. If the litter is a great litter there may be only 1 or 2 non-show/non-breed dogs, so you may not get this litter.
Apparently the waiting list to get a female from him is long.... Hopefully that's what breeders want. He advised against getting my male fixed.

Way too much. I wish I'd have bought a trained lab for $3k. I got my fiancée attached to boykins, she doesn't think $1,500 is absurd. But she said she'd pay for dog if I pay for training.
Deposit on a not yet conceived Boykin

So my woman/I put $200 deposit in October to get on list with only Boykin breeder in Houston area. We are #3 on the list for male pups- I want a duck/dove dog that can handle the occasional goose.
Fast forward to today, I get an email from the breeder that one of his females won best in breed at Westminster...female is from a litter of b!tch that I could potentially be getting my dog from. Said b!tch went into heat this week.
He never cashed our deposit check, but did confirm receipt.
Will I be fighting a rate increase? I would think we had a verbal contract.
TIA.

This is 21st century. They need to get cool with alternate start/end times. This is huge in houston due to traffic.
