re: Has anyone here ever had a problem with afib?

It's not to be taken lightly. Afib increases your chances of a strike and heart damage. It's treatable. Go see a cardiologist. Don't delay.
re: Things That Are Still On Your Bucket List?

I'm doing it. My wife of 40 years passed this January. I'm traveling a good bit. So far, hunting the hill country of Texas, red fishing in the marsh, Utah and Wyoming for a week. I'm going to the Pendleton Roundup rodeo, (oldest rodeo in the U.S.) in September, back to Wyoming fishing for lake trout in October. I want to hunt ducks in Nebraska or South Dakota also. I'm going to travel until I die or run out of money.

I gave it up last week. I woke up with a hangover Thursday morning and said enough is enough. I'm done. I'm not quitting, I quit. Actually, I don't miss it. I feel better, I'm saving money and life is good sober.

Quail hunt N La
Posted by bpinson on 1/30/24 at 8:19 pm
Does anyone know of a quail hunt in N La? A friend has an 86 yo dad that I'd like to take one last time. I'm afraid the drive from Shreveport to Walthall county Ms may be a little too much for him. TIA
re: Ist 11/18 opening day in SW Ms
Posted by bpinson on 11/19/23 at 2:38 pm
In my younger days "Opening Day" was like a holiday. I couldn't hardly sleep. Deer camp was an old school bus in the piney woods of south Mississippi with my grandfather and cousins. That morning the tailgate would drop and the hounds were in hot pursuit.

I worked with a lady from Lafayette back in the mid 90's and her grandfather had to go in a nursing home so she took his dog. Grandpa told her the dog was very smart, but she couldn't get him to do shite. She went to visit Grandpa and he asked about the dog. She said Grandpa that is the dumbest dog, he won't even come to me. He said Cher, he only speaks french. After that all was well with the dog.

My BIL needed $3k for his son's dorm and my wife, (no pics) and I "loaned" him the $3K. He assured us he was gonna pay us back really quick. This was in mid August. He posted a FB pic of him and his wife at the MSU LSU game all decked out in LSU gear. I talked to him a few days later and he told me they had free tickets. Ok so I let it go. I called him this evening about his Mom's house we, (I) are cleaning out and he said, "hey man we're out to eat..in Orange Beach, I thought what the fing hell. I got off the phone and told my wife, shite we're financing his vacation. Oh well live and learn. I'm the dumbass, but it was for a good cause for my nephew. Like they say don't loan money to friends or family and expect it back. BIL did call me back and said he would start paying me $200/month. I guess that's something...we shall see.

So you're at $550 to hunt in Ms per year. We need the money. You coon asses are driving the lease prices through the roof. It's supply side economics. Meanwhile, I just got my senior exempt lifetime all game hunting and fresh water fishing license and WMA permit for $2.30.

Battery powered Blink cameras. My driveway is 700' long and I have 4 along the driveway and 2 on my porch. They require a wifi signal, so I installed a TP link omnidirectional and a flat panel wifi antenna. I get coverage all the way to the gate at the end of the driveway. I also installed 4 small motion detect LED lights that come on upon detecting movement. If you parents live a neighborhood they may not need the outdoor wifi gear. The thing I like about them is I get an alarm on my phone when the cameras detect motion, thus I know when someone is coming down my driveway.

12 ga 3" mag Federal Sabot slug rifled 50 Cal 300 grain. Deadly at 100 yds. 0 buckshot for close range. But what do I know, I've been killing them for 50 years. Most shots in the woods are less than 50 yds.
