Like who?
The board, in general, is so scared to say what they believe (constitutionally) because they know Trump’s gonna come behind them and make them change their tune.

Because he ran his mouth nonstop for years and got into a strong position to do something and folded like a Guanzhou lawn chair.
Agreed. Wish I could find the quote from his interview recently where he said (loosely)… ‘let’s face it, I was paid to say a lot of stuff on my show…’

With the crooked Democrats and the corrupt FBI, how much tampering was done with the evidence? Can you trust what you see?
It gives me hope that even PT is trolling Bongino at this point.

Do this make Attia’s health advice and teaching wrong?
This comment makes me think somewhere on Reddit in 2005, there was a baw posting that “So what? This don’t mean the ADT security system that BTK installed in my meemaw’s house in 1980 isn’t a damned fine system!”
quote:
Alex didn't have an ID like required by law, but that's none of ICE's business and they don't enforce state law.
Agreed.
And considering the amount of disinformation (e.g. Noem’s statement and Bovino’s interview), what’s the concrete evidence we have that Pretti wasn’t carrying (a) ID and (b) a concealed carry permit?
quote:
Ok? What does that have to do with me correcting the dipshit on his assertion?
quote:
Except I never said that?
I'm simply pointing out that Pretti was not, in fact, carrying legally under Minnesota state law contrary to what the dipshit asserted.
Which is literally a petty misdemeanor with a max fine of $25.

However he had no permit on him (or even photo ID), which under Minnesota state law is illegal. fricking stupid law, but there it is.
“In retrospect, after we executed the noncombatant, we discovered he was in violation of not carrying his permit, and so therefore, we are clear of any wrongdoing.”

Again, I’m not taking sides, just observing.
I appreciate it. I was genuinely curious. You’re an old school poster like myself. Was much more fun on TD when politics was boring and the topic of the day was the police blotter at The Varsity.

It’s amazing how much things have changed in a year. The opinion of this board was all about “winning” and cleaning house, and it’s slowly flipping. The posts and upvote/downvote ratios say a lot. I’m not saying it’s good or bad, just an observation.
In what way?

Yup. True.

Neither the FAIRUS.org numbers nor the House report are “official government statistics”. Try again.
But only one of them is designated a hate group by the ACLU.

FAIRUS.org says $30 B a year in taxes from illegal immigrants and the US House of Representatives website links this article stating $100 B a year. Which is more reputable?

nope. try again.
i can't believe we've got someone in here actually making a case for keeping illegal immigrants in this country. incredible.
Find me where I said that. I said your claim that the cost of ICE was worth it because illegal immigrants were a financial drain was interesting and we chased up the numbers. :dunno:

What about income tax like the rest of us?
Looks like roughly $20 B in federal and $7 B in state income taxes.

You’re being disingenuous or have an agenda if you suggest it’s not
I’m not but thanks for the projection.
Now knowing that ICE costs $30 B and you’re saying illegal immigrants cost us $90 - $150 B per year. Plus illegal immigrants pay back in taxes roughly $ 100 B per year. I’d say that’s roughly even. That was a fun side bar.

And it leads to an avalanche of questionable legal analyses because now you have to judge all the other agents based on what their reasonable perceptions of the event is.
Both of you have rosier perceptions than me because you seem to think there might be an actual investigation.

‘Cost to the taxpayer’ is a weird card to play when it’s drastically cheaper to remove illegal immigrants than to bankroll them, their families, and their future dependents for decades.
You think that’s true? I honestly don’t know. Cost of ICE at last check is like $30 B per year. Curious how your math would get you there.
