They do not have a huge impact, players read these boards and laugh. Some post on this board and we never know it.
I know a couple players the use to read board and would get mad when "Fans" dissed them and called them garbage, or bad mouthed them in any way.

Message boards are an avenue of release, if they have a problem with a board like this, they have 10 more just like this one. The Rivals/ESPN message boards are worse than this one in my opinion.

That's probably a tad disingenuous, but no more than it would have been if Peyton had walked over to congratulate Drew Brees.

For the record, Peyton did call Brees later in the night. Said the Saints quarterback: "Peyton's a class guy." If the man who was supposedly snubbed thinks so, that's enough for me.
