Only thing that comes to mind is when Doc Rivers of the Celtics left money in the locker room at the Staples Center to motivate his team to get to the NBA Finals against the Lakers to recoup that money. Other than that????...

I agree. Its not about the money. That is why I added the Eric Gordon and Gordon Hayward getting max contract examples. You can question his desire to win leaving the Nuggets for the Knicks coupled with the reasoning. Chicago was perfect for him.
