It just doesn't seem like the timelines line up for that. They're still very young and are a ways away from really contending for a Cup. I don't think mortgaging the future for Hellebuyck makes sense at the moment. Need to make the playoffs and maybe win a series with this group, then see what moves could get them over the top a year or two from now. The top of the West is still loaded and getting Helly right now doesn't make them better than Colorado, Minnesota, etc.

This hasn't been just a 2026 issue. We've heard the same shite ever since the exit interview in 2023 when he said "we have to get another playoff caliber starting pitcher."

Guess what we havent done since then??? It's inexcusable to mismanage the roster the way he has since 2021. The last two seasons, he's hitched his wagon to hoping and praying multiple guys return from serious injury only to have said guys get injured again or have a drop off in production. And that's just on the pitching side. He's ignored SS and OF for 3 seasons.

The window is pretty much closed thanks to him.

I know what you mean. Me and my grandpa shared a bond over the Saints. We were in the Dome together in 2009 when they won the NFCCG vs the Vikings. He passed away in 2017. Thought for sure they were going to win another one in 2018. I still get a little sad when the season starts up knowing he isn't here.

I enjoy watching the Sixers. Maxey seems like a really good dude and I wish Embiid could stay healthy. It sucks LeBron is there now because I refuse to root for that guy to have success lol
