Should be in a pretty good spot for a Sunday. Basically agree except I would put Rizy on that list too. Would be surprised if he pitched today.
Hopefully that is a sign of good things to come for him. Threw strikes and executed. Keep it going young man!

Agreed! Many casual fans seem to assume that other teams have 3 legit SEC starters and 5 dudes in the bullpen that consistently pitch clean innings and get outs in clutch situations regularly.

Those of us who actually follow this close know that is rarely the case. Good SEC staffs have 4 or 5 real arms total. Any more than that and the staff is elite IMO.

This staff is good. The 4 real arms they have all have shown the ability to give some length. Deployed correctly, they can give you 20-24 innings out of a 27 inning weekend. That’s a winning formula.

Hoping that one of the young arms can find some consistency and the offense can win us some games while that happens.

This guy makes almost every baseball thread unreadable. I can handle negatigers, sunshine pumpers, whatever. But this dude is something else entirely. His takes are factually dumb, emotionally driven, and completely designed to be trolling/argumentative. I love LSU baseball. And I love reading /talking about it here. This guy needs to go.
What a bad arse! I can’t imagine a bigger compliment as a hunter than tricking a bobcat into thinking you are a turkey. That dude is my hero.
You have a legit ace that is an advantage over most and a push with the other elites in SR or Omaha.

You have a Saturday starter that is looking better and better and likely an advantage over most any number 2 starter.

You have 2 bullpen arms that match length and ability with any 2 bullpen arms in the country.

That’s a good place to start.

You need 2 arms to step up. It may or may not happen.

Offensively, need some better at bats. But everyone in the lineup has shown the ability to do it. I think they break out of this slump at some point.

Assuming we don’t shite the bed coming down the stretch, almost certainly will host a regional. I like our odds of winning the first 2 games. Then you just need to find a way to win one. I think this team can do that.

In a 2 of 3 SR, we are pretty well equipped to go get two games.

When you get to Omaha, you’re going to need an Ack-like (off the radar) performance from someone to get all the way through, but I think that’s true for most teams.

I think this team is actually in a pretty good spot. If they can win at least 4 games through the next 3 series, you’ll know you are in a decent spot. If they manage to win 5 or more games, you are in business. These next 3 series will feel like supers.

I love the confidence but Wanna try again? I’m guessing you only turned the games on in Omaha.

Hey dumbass, his first 6 appearances his freshman year were starts. Check the stats. It was between him and Walker as to who would be the third starter.

Then he got to the pen and was awesome for the home stretch.

Then they put him back as a starter and he was ok but certainly not great.

Hess was pretty mediocre to bad as a starter. Maineri moved him to the pen and the whole dynamic changed. He threw max effort , his fast ball seemed to move more and picked up a few mph. And he didn’t have to worry about a second time through the line up.

I see a similar possibility for Shores.

Once guidry shows he is ready, Cowan becomes Sunday starter, and Shores goes to pen.

Fingers crossed this happens and works.

It’s amazing how ignorant people can be so confident.

You honestly think that cancer care is not light years better than it was 20 years ago?

You aren’t paying attention. Or are too stupid to know what to pay attention to.

Quote- “They have no intention of curing cancer”

This is such a bull-shite tinfoil hat line.

Look at the common cancers and I’ll show some examples.

Prostate cancer - vast majority of patients, even with advanced disease, are cured with standard treatment.

Thyroid cancer - 95+% cure rate with standard treatment.

Lymphomas - very high cure rate.

Colon cancer - very good means of early detection and vast majority of patients are cured if detected early.

HPV related cancers (cervical, some throat cancers) will likely be prevented , or at least drastically reduced by the HPV vaccine. And in the meantime , cure rates for both of these cancers are very high.

The reality is that “cancer” is not one thing to cure, but 100 or 1000, or 10,000 things. The advances in molecular and genomic testing are changing the game and we are WAY better than we ever have been at curing it.

So don’t just parrot “big pharma out to get me” bullshite and expect people who actually know something to nod their head. You’re not just a little wrong. You are way wrong.

And if there was a single “cure” for cancer, that would end cancer once and for all, there would be so much money in it that it would be impossible that company to not release it.

So yes, in fact, “ they” are trying to cure cancer.
This team will be good.

Defense- as good as any tiger team in recent memory. Only potential issue is at catcher, but Hernandez has been a pleasant surprise.

Pitching - 3 solid starters. Once Schmidt and ware are in pen , and guidry is up and running we will have a pretty deep pen that should be a real advantage for us. This should be amplified on Sat/Sun.

Offense- pretty excited about this offense. Curiel/bear/dickinson/milam are all legit. Playing matchups with Frey/both Pearsons/reaves /brasswell/larson should allow all of them to have lots of success when they get opportunities. Also allows for pinch runners or defensive subs when justified.

Gonna be a fun year.
You would not be surprised if the #1 ranked team going in to conference play lost every series ? (10-20)

It must take a lot to surprise you.

I think we go 19-11.
This is some advice from a doctor who has spent a fair amount of time in ICU’s.

1. Your mom’s situation is obviously complicated.

2. Props to you for being involved in her care. That’s important

3. It’s hard to trust a doctor with bad bedside manner. But that doesn’t mean he’s wrong.

4. Don’t confuse being somewhat medically knowledgeable or well read with having the answers. In a lot of these cases the answers aren’t clear to even the best and most experienced docs.

5. I’ve seen some very well intentioned family members trying to do the right thing have detrimental impacts on their loved ones care. “Be an advocate” in general is a great idea. But if you are advocating against helpful things and /or for unhelpful/detrimental things then you will hurt the person you are trying to help.

I hope she heals up soon.

Thanks so much for the info to both of you. Everything I had read/watched about Bavarians looked great, but they are pretty rare (at least around here) so it made me a little nervous. Seems like they would be a good fit for me and my family. I’ll look into Lumpey’s kennels. The OB delivers again.

I’m thinking of getting a Bavarian. It sounds like you have had a good experience ? Would you recommend the breed? Specific breeder?
I have a vortex venom on my turkey setup and have been pleased.

Should have been a 6 team playoff

Top two get byes. Next four play in to get to the semi’s. All games on campus at higher seed.

6 was the right number. Regular season still has tremendous value and other bowls maintain a little bit of value. This current situation is not great.

You keep saying that 6% profit is ok. And I would generally agree.

Do you think that United’s $54B per year operating cost is providing that kind of value in services for its patients?

I would submit they are (like most companies of its size) a bloated corporate behemoth and don’t provide value worth their cost.

Deeprig,

You state clearly that providers “take 95% of your insurance premiums” in your diatribe about your crooked relatives.

The first graph shows $371 B in premiums collected. $241 B in total medical costs.

If all of these medical costs were paid to physicians , then that would be 65% of their premiums , already way less than your aunties 95%.

But wait, there’s more.

It’s generally accepted that physician payments represent about 20% of health care dollars spent.

So 20% of 241 B is likely what actually goes to physicians. That’s about $48b.
That’s about 2X the profit of the insurance company itself ($23B) . So all the doctors who took care of all the patients with United insurance made about 2x what the insurance company did for the fiscal year in question.

The insurance company provided ZERO medical care or knowledge. It took zero risk. It handled ZERO emergencies. And still made half as much profit as all the money it paid to doctors.

And FYI, I’m about as right wing as they come. I’m not sure how you got anything left wing out of my statement. But clearly you aren’t the brightest. Maybe have a different aunt or uncle help you with this?
