I am not questioning the statement, but I would love to read more about it

THIS.

You need to check out some of the 'big hitters' involved in Nalco. Yes, this is more PT Board but you would be shocked at the corruption (Soros, Maurice Strong, Buffet, Obama, Gore, Rezko, et al...) many nefarious characters heavily invested in their products.

What school would NOT take that deal ?

Every school in the SEC would NOT take that deal.

The fans deserve top competition, nobody respects a set up. Texas has played a weak arse schedule forever and now its even weaker.

No respect for them, sorry.
quote:

This is correct. If not for intense political influence brought upon the universities, Texas would be in the Pac 16 and A&M would be in the SEC.

Yep, and instantly, A&M would have moved past Texas into the "Big Leagues"....

During the existence of the Big 12, TX has played Neb 9 times and has won 8. Texas Tech is a much more difficult team to play than Nebraska.

Right. That's why Texas needed the refs to screw Nebraska so they could play for the BCS last year.

Game was over. Mac Brown got a pass. Texas didn't deserve to play for the ring, and lost.

Is there a bigger pile of money waiting for Alabama? No.

You sure about that? BAMA football is all that there is in Alabama. No pro teams (major league) and fans as rabid as any.

Bama football is discussed every day of the year in Alabama. Could there be a Bama Network? I think there could be. Has Bama acted selfishly, no.

The South comes together better than other parts of the country. I think it goes back to the civil war. We no longer have the CSA, so the SEC is our united group.

Maybe so. Texass was part of the CSA too. What happened to that bunch?

Then again, people hate the Dallas Cowboys for the same arrogance.

I really can't imagine a human being being this naive.

The SEC is comfortable because they have a bazillion dollars. If they woke up tomorrow and they had a bazillion dollars minus one, things would change quick.

The SEC didn't screw over conference members when the NCAA was handing out the money. Now that the SEC is controlling its own finances, they are still standing together.

TEXASS on the other hand was attempting to destroy the Second Conference in less than 20 years.

So, comparing the behavior of Texass to SEC schools behavior is laughable.

BAMA has a far greater pedigree than Texas, but doesn't act in a similar manner. Why?

Why do SEC teams chant SEC, SEC? Because conference affiliation means something.

Nobody will be chanting Big 12 anytime soon. And nobody will be cheering for Texass, except those wearing burnt orange and singing "I've been working on the railroad" with different lyrics.

Look, Texass is for Texass, not other members of the conference.

I really can't imagine an SEC school attempting to screw another SEC school out of money. If you are part of the club in the SEC, you are an equal member.

Vanderbilt isn't treated like a step child. New members, S. Carolina and Arkansas are accepted as equals. And former members such as Tulane are still scheduled by SEC schools.

No, Texass appears greedy and not a good partner.

So, with that soft-assed conference we can all look forward to the TX/OU game equaling a semifinal for the BCS championship.

I think the PAC 10 and Big 10 both look like they tried to upgrade. The Big 12 only downgraded.

Big 12 - Enormous JOKE

Talk about screwing the pooch. Texas had literally "bullshitted" OU, OSU, and TT into going down a path toward the PAC 10.

Then, A&M decided to shop around and found a buyer, the SEC.

Nebraska accepted a much better offer than staying with Texas.

Colorado found mile-high happiness with the PAC 10.

And in the end, Texass was shown to be nothing but a money grubbing school. Hookem any way you want to, Texass screwed over the rest of the Big 12. They will NEVER see the type of money paid to SEC schools. They will however play a weak schedule, year in, year out.

Nope, give me Miami, North Carolina, or Virginia Tech first.

Exactly, fighting oil spills and beating Bama should be our focus. :rotflmao:

Texas A&M should have committed to the SEC a few days ago before Texas had a chance to "save" the Big 12 and look like the hero. Then this would have never happened.

I would have welcomed the Faggies. UT is another story.

All being equal, watching Texass retreat was almost as good as watching Bama spank that Longhorn arse in the BCS.
Talk about coming with hat in hand. UT wanted more money, they got it. They also didn't want more vigorous competition, they got that too.

UT got rid of the team that beat them in the Big 12 Championship game (Nebraska got screwed). They got rid of Colorado that beat them in another Big 12 Championship game several years ago. They are left with teams they regularly beat and still run the show.

The Aggies got more money, which could make them more competitive. The Aggies looked like they could finally make a decision without calling Austin first, as well.

No, UT screwed the pooch. They lost control of the process and had to retreat back to the safe harbor of the reduced Big 12.

What a bunch of candy asses UT turned out to be.

A more natural growth of the SEC would be from the East Coast: North Carolina, Miami, FSU, Ga Tech.

You lose Nebraska, which the Big Ten wanted. Then lose Colorado, which the PAC Ten wanted. How does that make your league more valuable?

Fact is: It doesn't.

The SEC should...

tell A&M and whomever else they invite to join that the offer is a ONE TIME OFFER.

Don't join now, and you'll never get another shot.

After all, the SEC really doesn't need any other teams to be the best.
