If you can get the unrate/director's cut - which is approximately 2 and a half hours long, then get it. They cut out ALOT of footage - including a scene with Moon Bloodgood's tig ol bitties - to get it down to PG-13 and have a sub-2 hour showing time. Blame the higher ups for that....
