Acadiana’s greatest win is tough, there are a few, excluding state championships:
1999 vs Shaw 1st round. We had absolutely no business winning that game.
2006 vs CHBR semi’s. My goodness what a loaded team
2007 vs West Monroe 2nd round. Finally got the monkey off of our back and ended their little tv show. Having ESPN cameras at your practice all week sure does motivate you.
2010 vs STM semi’s. Revenge curb stomping. Whooped those catholic boys so bad they controlled their enrollment and dropped a whole classification. Still wont schedule Acadiana.
2014 vs Ponch 2nd round. Moved our linebacker to quarterback in week 10 and beat maybe the most talented team in history of 5A.
I think the winner is 2010 STM
Worst loses is not nearly as hard:
2017 vs Hahnville semis, ended in OT on a 2pt conversion. Davidsons last game…wish he would’ve retired on top.
2007 vs destrahan finals. My last game ever, had a crazy talented jordan jefferson led desty team on their toes when a muffed punt ended things.

It is an honor to be your most upsetting lost and greatest win haha. We can relate…I remember when Acadiana finally beat West Monroe in the playoffs in 2007 on their espn2 tv show. It honestly was a more meaningful victory at the time than the 2006 state championship…anyway congrats on your success!

yup same at Acadiana. After he pulled a couple scholarships from local guys to give to a Texas or Florida recruit the coaches stop giving him the time of day. They sent a lot of kids to Mcneese during those years.

Honestly ESPN deserves every bit of this. Their HS football “showcases” always consist of some national football factory playing some other national football factory (as if these schools need more tools to recruit players out of their hometown schools)resulting in boring games with no emotion. HS football is about passion and rivalry . Show me Breaux Bridge vs Cecilia, Acadiana vs Carencro, Zachary vs Scottlandville etc. People want to see teams play that hate each other with packed stands and foil wrapped bbq burgers.

another glaring difference, Napier recruits local home grown talent and has a good relationship with local hs coaches. Billy is in the coaches offices shooting the shite and forming relationships while the only appearances Hud made was when he would fly in at half time on Fridays in an Acadiana Ambulances helicopter once a season.

I was on the first state title team in 2006 while also going to the finals in 05,07. Since then they have won 5 more titles and became the most dominant Louisiana 5A program of the 21st century
