Our classes are always filled with skill positions. We can never get players in position needs. We are DBU and we had to play walkons because of low numbers at the CBS position. Also as good as the skill position players we recruit are, without the big uglies blocking for them they can’t perform to the best of their abilities. Ask Leonard Fournette
Dude we had the top offensive line in the nation just last year

I just clicked your link on Minter's announcement in the OP and Schad just tweeted Simon has declared as well. I don't know how to link it from a phone though.

Whoops, what I meant to say was everything I heard about UF from LSU fans last week was right. We got spit on, corndogs were thrown at us and our car was keyed numerous times because it had Louisiana plates. Don't go under any circumstances.

I was at the game and yes, that was a little classless. I can see where they thought the injuries were faked, but UF doesn't run an offense that would be hurt by faking injuries.
As for the UF fans as a whole, I don't think I've ever encountered nicer people period, much less opposing fans. They were an absolute blast. Great people, great campus, great atmosphere. I'd like to thank Florida fans that post here and tell them to pass it along to everybody else, I can't say enough about how great it was, even in a losing effort.

I'm a youngster but the 07 UF game was probably my favorite college game ever. The intensity was incredible and the speed on that field was jaw-dropping. Add in a Heisman, a national champion, the best crowd I've ever seen and a 4th quarter comeback and what more could you want?

Supposedly his leader is UVA but yes, I'd imagine playing time is a factor as well
re: raph rhymes---MLB potential

Not much value at a corner outfield spot. My best comparison would probably be a right handed batting, not as good version of Dustin Ackley. Absolutely zero chance of first round pick consideration but if he can move to second competently and show he's not a one year wonder, he could become a solid prospect.

It's a risk vs. reward type of thing, obviously, but even Eric Gordon himself has been saying for years that his youngest brother would be the best of the three. I normally don't like offers this early and still don't with this one as I think IU would have a good shot even if they waited but I think this is as safe a bet as you'll find

When I came in two years ago, a 28 got instate tuition and a 29+ got tuition fully covered. I got above a 29 the second time I took the ACT and got the golden oaks award (fancy for no tuition except for $1500 a year, which you earn from work study. It could be different now with the budget cuts but hopefully this helps. There's a scholarship page on lsu.edu that may be more helpful to you.
re: 1-12, rank the level of difficulty of LSU's 2012 opponents in your opinion

1. @Arkansas- our top competition in the west.
2. USC- Lattimore is easily the top weapon in the SEC and Clowney can change a game off the edge.
3. Alabama- Obviously will still be a tough team to beat, especially since they will be up for this one but I don't see what those who say this is a top five team see. (see slightly less talented and vastly less experienced version of 2010)
4. @Florida- Muschamp's had an entire offseason as well as last year to work with that talent on defense. Yikes. Can they score though?
5. @Auburn- Still a young team but one to watch with its talent level. Probably another year away from contending for the division but very dangerous still.
Then there's the rest. As long as we stay focused we should win the rest, but I can see one of the above five being able to outplay us on a given day.

If somebody can get through to Justin Coleman (Marshall), that would be a major score for whoever got him. Too big of a risk though, unfortunately.
re: Artie burns decommits interested in LSU
Posted by LSU2014 on 3/21/12 at 5:23 pm
I think "experts" with the scoop on Burns have been wary of this type of thing since his commitment. Obviously something changed but I think it has more to do with staying home than it does Alabama.

Are they anywhere near what their big brother was/is as a player? Eric was the best college defender I've ever seen.
re: LSU basketball recruiting woes in New Orleans
Posted by LSU2014 on 2/9/12 at 8:43 pm
Basketball recruiting is remarkably national. It's like this everywhere.
That's mostly for the better players though, as for role players I'm unsure why LSU doesn't seem like a better option.

re: Is there a worse recruiter in major college basketball than Trent Johnson?
Posted by LSU2014 on 10/18/11 at 5:41 pm
I thought he did a pretty good job with the last class. How many McDonald's All-Americans do you expect to go to a program that is where this one is right now? Quite a few schools went after O'Bryant and Hamilton. This isn't Kentucky
re: Spencer Ware not in the same class as Trent Richardson
Posted by LSU2014 on 10/10/11 at 3:40 pm
He's just not... Ware is fantastic but with Richardson we're talking the best all-around feature back in college football since Adrian Peterson, in my opinion. I don't remember seeing a back as perfectly made for the NFL as Richardson, including Peterson, and though I realize this is about college, Richardson is in a class of his own that only Lattimore and James can approach.
