LUNCH - uno de mayo

From a Spanish speaker, although nobody says "uno de mayo" (and technically not wrong), the correct way to say it is "primero de mayo".
Actually last night I was watching a short video on social media about this African dude in the jungle eating the face of a baboon, raw. He was casually eating the meat of the face while a dozen of flies were getting in his way. That was pretty disturbing.

Lakeside Mall , in Metairie is thriving today just as much as it was when I grew up in the 80’s .

I haven't been there in years but I'm sure that it can't beat mid 80's Lakeside mall, going to the record store to grab some LP's or cassettes, the arcade to play Punch Out or Spy Hunter, or going to Eckerd's to grab a Star Wars action figure or even walking to the movie theatre to watch Rocky IV.

Whoever made that decision fvcked up big time. It wasn't even a great idea to begin with, and for those who followed and played out this stupid scheme, shame on them. Sooner or later they were going to get caught, something had to give, and it happened pretty soon at the time.

Why wouldn't they come up with the idea of keeping and presenting the original singers and having Rob & Fab as a "chorus/backing vocals" or as "dancers" during their presentations? Very similar to what Earth, Wind & Fire did in their heyday. They had over 12+ members at once on stage.

There's a video on YT showing the real Millie Vanilli "Keep on Running" which would have been perfect for the band had they kept the same concept in that video. It shows the real singers singing and Rob & Fab dancing and singing along.

I remember when the band got busted they were accepting full refunds at the record stores. I kept mine and still have the LP. Good times.
Her driver's license or ID will end up on eBay and somebody will buy it.
Guess what? When I was a kid, I lived in Nicaragua.

They take the whole week off as a "national holiday". Everything closes except hospitality, retail, markets, entertainment and hospital.

Thanks but not quite, Class of '98 here.
I had to pay an "out of state" student additional fee.
Terrible news this morning. 3 people on board.
Someone here jinxed the "no aircraft accidents lately".

Yeah, I was referring to late 1990's plus I paid an out of state fee.

I remember $2600 for the semester at LSU, full time student.
Respect for Dolly and everything she has done for her community and beyond.

Sad to hear that her brother and husband both died less than 3 months from each other. It must have been rough for her.
When I was around 20 y.o. (long time ago), I used to work at a dry cleaners, but in the back pressing and ironing clothes. When it was time to press and dryclean any type of pants, specially in the crotch area, the vapor would bring in these awful smells. And no we didn't have masks.

"However, the Isla Mujeres municipal government said in a February 2025 statement that no festival permits had been requested or approved.[47] An investigation by the New York Times found that the GPS coordinates for the festival pointed to a landless location in the ocean, off the coast of Cancun. "Skepticism would not be out of place", noted the Times.[47] The "Allegedly Real Tickets", according to Rolling Stone, ranged from $1,400 to $1.1 million each".

It will not happen.

McFarland has to love prison for organizing another party dressed in fraud.

Me too, but then you think about it and it would have turned into a "high speed chase" and most likely with violent results.
This post made me hungry. I think I'm going for bbq tonight.

Years ago, a co-worker grabbed some dog poop with a stick, and rubbed a good piece of it under my desk. I had no idea where the smell came from, I kept on checking my shoes and carpet around. I was in this situation for several days until it occurred to duck under the desk, and there it was, it was the size of a chewed gum but very powerful.
