71,000 and some change is what was announced at the game, also today Game had over 13k both are new WBB SEC Tournament records.

Greenville and BSW Arena do a phenomenal job hosting this tournament. If another city wants to host all they have to do is put in a better bid. With the addition of new schools in the league, it's not a very central location but what it does have is it's easily accessible for not just Carolina but Tennessee as the most stored WBB SEC program as well. All this talk about a home arena the same can be said about other SEC Championship venues, heck we're not even the closest SEC campus to Greenville.
I also live in Pickens County, so Im more than happy to join the prayer circle!

SC no longer does voluntary evacuations. A declaration to evacuate is just that. Also, the Gov. just mentioned she "can't imagine the game takes place as planned."

While I don't have 30 years flying experience I am a pilot for JetBlue based in FLL, but do live in Greenville. I have to disagree with this. I flew one of our last flights out of Jamaica before the cancelations went into effect and this has turned into a massive storm. The further it drifts westward, the worst it is for the SC coast. A good friend of mine is stationed with the 53rd WRS, and flies one of the Hurricane Hunters. He said the Bermuda High has intensified significantly, and that from his personal experience is this thing is going to make a landfall on the SC/NC coast.

I hope its nothing more than a little rain, as I don't want to lose another home game after last year.
Rich Rod was given a courtesy interview because he asked for one and wanted to see the facilities. He was never offered the position, and we put ourselves in a position for he and his agent to embarrass us in the media with a lie.
Can't wait to make the trip again thats for sure!
Wanted to echo the OP's comments. As an airline employee I get to fly for free so made the trip into a nice weekend get away in NOLA. From the time I landed in NOLA to the time I flew home Sunday night, I couldn't have been welcomed any better. From everyone stopping us in the airport to wish us luck, to those who said they were praying for us it was pretty awe inspiring. I put the car flags on the rental car and headed up to the BR and everyone was giving us a thumbs up or a wave as we passed cars on the interstate. Walking around before the game and having people invite us to their tailgates to offer us food, drinks, and just some good ole souther hospitality is beyond indescribable. Seeing the SC and Block C flag flying above Tiger Stadium and the state flag on the video boards was awesome. Having your band play our alma mater and fight song, and then playing 2001 and sandstorm was the icing on the cake. You guys are an awesome fan base. We had LSU fans in the stadium try to buy us food and do anything they could to make us feel at home. I got cold chills when Carolina entered the stadium and the entire place stood and applauded like it was LSU coming out on the field. This was an experience i'll never forget and it was because of all of you! Best of luck the rest of the season, and Geaux Tigers!
Yes, CLT is a no go based on the resources required to run the race and not having enough personnel the man the game.
I can't link it because its from a Carolina pay site, but its looking more and more likely that you guys will host the game. Expect an afternoon announcement from Carolina tomorrow.
Many Carolina pay sites are reporting that Jerry Richardson has reached out to the university and if the game is moved, its going to Bank of America Stadium.
Im in the minority. I said at the time of his hiring I think other people should have been interviewed before simply handing him the keys. Had Tanner interviewed other candidates and then decided on Holbrook I would be alright with that but Im not a fan of just giving someone whose never been an HC the keys to an elite baseball program. In his two years as HC we have regressed each year. Its just my opinion and my opinion only, that the players have also regressed. Players should be getting better each year, and they simply are not. Joey makes more errors for someone whose been in the program for 3 years more than anyone I've ever seen. He played on my cousins travel team so I saw him all throughout middle school and high school and he just seems to have gotten worse each year he's been at Carolina. Maybe its just the way we lost at home and then turn around and got slaughtered last night that has me feeling this way right now. Maybe in a few days I'll have a different take on it, but since Holbrook has taken over the team just doesn't have chemistry and doesn't have a true leader like the teams of Tanner. I think Holbrook also waits to long to make decisions and just has a kind of "lost" look on his face in the dugout at times. Maybe that just part of not having much experience. Im not for firing him yet, but if next year is worse than this year the seat should get hot IMHO. I can honestly see this in a couple of years ending bad for Holbrook as you can't help but compare Holbrook's situation with Smoke Laval. He was an assistant coach under a hall of fame coach, Skip Bertman, and then given the keys to the best program in the country when Skip Bertman became the LSU AD. And then the program went into decline, getting worse every year until Bertman had to let him go.

It is not a question of the town. It is who ESPN employs, and those folks are ACC both in front of the camera and behind the scenes on the staff. If you think this is changing you are not paying attention. Host Communications was founded in the SEC and pro SEC. It employed SEC kids out of school and it was located in SEC turf. Host was bought by IMG College and the first thing they did was move it to ACC country and employing ACC folks at the entry level.

Tell me how ESPN is not a repeat of this?

You are spot on here. I live in Clemson, so my local sports radio comes from WCCP (the flagship of clemson athletics). I know for a fact because he has mentioned it on the air, one of their host, the play by play caller for Clemson Baseball has been hire by ESPN for the SEC Network for Basketball and other broadcast. Roy Philpott broke this news on his radio show a couple of weeks ago when clemson fired their play by play caller for football and he gave the reason why he could not take over that roll for football and basketball was for the fact he had been hired by ESPN to do things for the SEC Network.
Not to take anything away from Mizzou, I don't think your links are correct. No way was Carolina that low in the SEC when we were ranked in the top 13 nationally. Carolina and Mizzou were the only 2 SEC teams to be ranked so your links must not be that accurate. LINK

I think they're required to play each other annually

Not sure if thats still the law, but in 1952 the state legislature did pass a law requiring Carolina and Clemson to play each other annually.
The buyout of $5 million is only if Dabo leaves Clemson, should they fire him, Clemson must pay a $24 million buyout. LINK

I don't think that the Cotton Bowl really has a choice, the Cap One Bowl picks before the Cotton and I believe that the Cap One Bowl will pick us and which will prevent us from going to Cotton.

You would think the Cap One has seen and heard the voice of the Gamecock faithful via social media, and would have taken the hint the fans want the Cotton but I guess not.

All I know is I was desperately looking forward to going to the Cotton, so this turn of events today is a little disappointing. Spending New Years with the mouse again isn't ideal, but will make the most of it.
