re: Biden strong odds-on-favorite to win first debate

I would say Romney bested Obama the first debate in Denver that cycle
Too bad we have to wait till reelection to confirm.
Open as of now, but I'm not sure how long that will last.
Only issue I have with this whole thing is that they are setting a $75k (or whatever it ends up being) ceiling on income from 2018. What good is a $100k salary if you lost your job because of all of this?
Second problem. Do you get it if you were already on unemployement, or unemployed? If so why? This didn't affect your income.

Honestly, I've been pretty critical through the years, but after the rough start to this I think it has been handled as well as anyone should expect for the last week or more.

Who wouldn't be exhausted? This thing is wearing me out, and nothing is on my shoulders.

It doesn't really matter what you consider yourselves. "upper-middle class" is a defined category, although loosely.

Isn't that kind of the point?
The same reason the media pushes half the things they do. They have to catch eyeballs, outrage keeps people engaged.
Have you met anyone in the real world that was mad about it? I haven't.

re: Italy's national health care: Those over 80 to be denied intensive care

First off you are using one of the poorest and unorganized European countries as a basis for failed universal healthcare. I believe a country like Germany with a system that many on the left would like to see would be a better comparison.
That 1.7% fatality rate will likely go down, but as it stands that is higher than a standard flu. Significantly higher.

how so? You think if a U.S. city had 15k confirmed cases and climbing in the span of a couple of weeks they wouldn't feel the strain? I stated it wouldn't be as bad, but it would be felt and it would.
