There is no link between Bell's palsy and a stroke
The onset of mine occurred during a hospital get together. I quickly realized that if I was cognitively able to run down a "checklist" I wasn't having a stroke. (Had a mild one of those a couple of years ago, as well, and recovered over a year) Fortunately, my then boss was the hospital medical director. He had security take me to his office where he examined me and told me what the real problem was. Had never heard of Bell's Palsy before that.

Older generation people tell me this is what causes it BTW. I had FWIW.
It can be caught from a draft. However, it can also occur due to infection or insult to the brain (i.e. blow to the head). Just because you are in one of these three situations doesn't mean you will get it. Just that there has been an association with these factors.

Paige, I can relate. No one can accuse me of talking out of both sides of my mouth as the left corner has a slight paralysis. As to you comment about feeling ugly .... I was there. Also, did not go out to eat for several months.

Had it 20 years ago. Lasted for about three months. Hit left side of face. Gave my hearing hell for a couple of years, and hit the inner ear as well. Can leave permanent damage, although it doesn't always do that. In my case, I was left with a slight paralysis with my left eye lid and left corner of mouth. Mild trouble swallowing on left side. Slight hearing loss in left ear. Beard covers up damage.

In your fricking dreams. Do ya'll still gang rape that poor dog the night before the game?

The idea of an 11:00 game anywhere in Louisiana is repugnant! Saturday nights were made for College Football in this state. We'll see as we get a little closer to the date.

Personally as a father to 3 daughters I would have never given Hill a sholorship after his 1st incident. That should have been enough to signal what kind of person Jeremy Hill is. There is no doubt of his talents on the football field but I have zero respect for him as a human being. Miles needs to do the right thing and let him go for his own good. If he is only suspended for 2 games what kind of lesson does this teach him?
I agree. Moreso, what kind of lesson does this teach the team? Long story short, one strike should be enough. He's a damned thug just like JJ was. Time for him to go.

8-4 plus mid-level bowl game.

Priorities are way out of whack. I work in the legal system. This is actually light compared to what I have seen for similar offenses. LSU will also have some soul searching to do. Is this what you want to represent the university and the football program? Will Les send the message that it's ok to do this shite? Doubt it. He's just letting things play out before he does what he has to do.

It was a good era.

The "better (more giving) fans" quote of Skip really was what confirmed the vibe.
Yeah, that has been the feeling I have had and there are others who would attest to this as well. I know times change. However, for many of us who were there during the hard times, it does feel like we are being slowly cast out with the sodomites.

LSU valued too many people's "dollars" over my "loyalty and support".
You know, I have followed LSU actively since 1967. That was essentially from high school to college to profession.
That remark you made is something I have been feeling for awhile. Maybe we are getting old and times are changing. However, it is good to know that I am not the only one who has been picking up this vibe.
I can only hope that someone in Joe A.'s gang is reading this.
I am sure there will always be someone out there who will pick up the tickets when we let them go. However, the fan base that was once loyal will be alienated. The so-called fan base coming in, won't be there when LSU needs them the most and given that most things do go in cycles, those times will eventually return.

I could care less about going to games now, last year I went to 2 total. When I can watch on TV with friends and not deal with the heat/humidity/idiots all day. Much more enjoyable experience but maybe it is just me getting older.
I am afraid that is the case here, too.

I will either let mine go when I retire or transfer them to my son when I retire. Either way, once I arrive at that point in about three or four years I think I would rather spend my money on other things.
Don't get me wrong. I love the place. However, games are more often in day than at night. Prices are only getting higher. We are too packed together in there. Parking has turned into a bitch. For what I spend, I could probably get a very nice big TV and enjoy the game in my den.
re: Switching over to Artificial Turf in Tiger Stadium is a great idea.

Evidently, some have never played on artificial turf. I got to once - would prefer grass any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Let LSU be college. Instead of trying to turn LSU into the NFL, just go to a fricking NFL game.

I had four seats at one time for about 20 years and let them go. I eventually got one seat back in a better location. The prices are getting to be a factor in keeping season tickets. I would love to have two tickets and probably will within the next year. That said, however, I am not sure how much longer I will keep them. Parking is getting to be more of a bitch, and the TAF stuff is getting to be more of a pain. I enjoy the hell out of it, but as an earlier poster indicated, it is no longer the center of my universe as it was 40 years ago. I might take the money and buy the biggest TV screen it will afford and enjoy the games in my den. The den is air-conditioned, I have a clean bathroom, better tasting and cheaper concessions, and can diddle the girlfriend on the couch during halftime.

Ow many LSU fans would be in attendance at the Indy bowl if they played there?
The couple of times we were there, we were glad to be there. Granted, we are better now, but never ever say never as there will be a season at some point in the future (hopefully distant).
In any event, the couple of times we were there was like a "baby Tiger Stadium".
re: 8 years with Les.....what are your thoughts....

I was skeptical at first, but he has done a pretty good job overall. Yes, there have been some disappointments and even embarrassments. However, he has a NC under his belt. A lot of beloved coaches out there don't.
Compared to a couple of the goobers we have had (Hallman, Archer, Hallman, Stovall, Hallman, did I mention that rat bastard Curley?) Miles is actually quite a welcome relief. He seems like a regular guy, wins a lot, and doesn't insist on fans kissing his dick like Saban. Saban was good, but he was a goddamned prick, even to some in the Athletic Dept).

Dinardo sure did like to play with the uniform.
Actually, he didn't play with it that often. The White Helments, Gold Jeserys and White Pants were used when Vandy refused to let us wear white at home, the first year we were wearing white at home (at that time visiting team had to agree; that's changed since). It was strictly to frick with Vandy. However, he decided to also use it at the two bowls he took us to. Not really many bitching at the time as we were all just shite tickled to be in a damned bowl game again. The biggest debacle was the Purple Pants against Kentucky, in one of the messiest games, not to mention shittest of that era. Those purple pants were probably piled up and burned after that game. That shite was so ugly that no one EVER wanted to see those pants again, not to mention the game sucked and Kentucky won that night in the rain.
