Crash signals are already going off in my area of metro ATL.

Until the latest one...

Your "Crash Signals" are one home in a subdivision of 174 homes staying on the market for a month during holiday season? To top it off, this home was originally sold to Zillow

Maybe explaining your definition of "Crash" would help.

Metropolitan Atlanta is home to 6,000,000+ people
Looks like you may have a fungus called Brown Patch. I have had this and it spreads quickly. The outer edge of the area is where the fungus is currently active. With our high humidity, the grass stays wet at night which can cause this to spread.

Link to the LSU AgCenter with info on the Fungus. I have had great success with spraying fungicide on the area. You may have to do this each year, as the fungus never really goes away.

Attack it quickly or you will regret it. If the damage is too bad, you may need to re-sod the area. If the area tends to hold water, I recommend fixing the drainage issue before laying new sod (make sure you have control of the fungus before re-sodding).

Any recommendations on which one to look at? I was looking at this one but it looks like the only 2018 one they have is for the Raptor. Would the 2017 fit on the 2018 F-150?

Not sure if serious...

Why would you want to put this cheap piece of plastic on the hood of your truck? To protect the front of your hood from bugs? Just clean them off.

Thinking about hitting up the Isle this weekend or next. Looking for Reds and Specs of course. Also looking to find a few flounder. Will probably stay at Bridgeside. Any advice on hot baits and general locations at the moment?

Went down last weekend. Water was high and wind was whipping but we were able to find some decently clean water in the marsh behind the island.

White Trout were everywhere, picked up probably 130 or so. Some were smaller so we threw them back, but still fun.

Ran into some nice size specs when the wind calmed down on Sunday late morning. They were also back in the shallow ponds. We didn't try the bay for trout due to the chop.

Mainly targeted Redfish, and found them. Pickup up 3 man limit both days.

Trout: Top Water, Cocahoe under cork caught the largest one (20"), Matrix shad with or without cork (Shrimp Creole, Limbo Slice & Lemonhead)

Redfish: Water was high so they were deep in the marsh. Had some great blowups on the top water but I really had to work it (worth it IMO). I didn't have much luck with spinner baits. Cocahoe under-cork up against the marsh worked well too.

The wind looks nasty this weekend but I am headed down again anyway.

Edit* General Location: Ran around the marsh behind Chenier to find protection from the wind. Slipped into the ponds that looked "fishy"

Good luck

Replacement is $80, more than half the cost of a new system. I can get most new systems for a similar price. Disappointed but not surprised. I'm not highly invested in Apple but like their products. However this is a bit of a wake up call of how expensive it really is to win their products. There is absolutely no support on this, only option is new remote (or remote app).

I did the same thing. I called Apple and was honest about what happened. Two days later I had a new remote in the mail for free.

I also had an older AppleTV with a remote that was acting up, they sent me over a new one of those as well.

Give them a call. Worth a try. And yes, get a cheap case off of amazon.

It is my 100,000 mile commuter car that I drive from the suburbs into work each day. It has a lot of life left in it, but I'm not too concerned if the exterior looks bad.

So, you rely on this car for your daily commute, but you do not care enough to wash it more than "maybe" one time per year?

Not much to worry about except for eventual breakdown of the paint which will lead to rust followed by water intrusion.

Not one CFP in the entire practice? You should definitely go for it!

re: Is anyone here a CFP?

What type of "practice" are you starting? Do you plan to do actual "Financial Planning" for clients or just investments? Will you be working with other CFPs?

Will you be starting an Independent firm from the ground up? Working for a large bank or wire house with an established client base?

You need to take a serious look at the services you plan to provide to your potential clients and go from there...Will the CFP Designation immediately increase your income? Probably not, unless you work for a larger firm that will increase your salary/payout due to your credentials.

If you plan to work with HNW clients, the CFP is a must. If you plan to only do investment work for clients in a bank setting, maybe the CFP is not necessary for you. But either way, the CFP designation will set you apart and add credibility to your name.

If you do plan to pursue the designation, be committed and see it through to the end. I am a CFP and I feel that it was worth the effort.

Fished Grand Isle Saturday 6/10/17. 3 man limit of Reds, picked up about 8 trout, lots of throw backs. We were mainly targeting Reds, but would stop for birds or a nice looking point to find trout.

Reds were caught on live Cocahoe Minnows under cork...a couple on Spinner Baits. Most of the reds were perfect eating size 18"-20"

Trout were caught on Matrix Shad Limbo Slice, under cork and a few on live Cocahoes

A few buddies were smoking the trout off the beach with croakers on bottom with carolina rig.

If you are going for trout, hit the beach if the weather allows. If not, find some moving water around the marsh and bounce around.

We fished the marsh on the back side of Chenier.

Good Luck

I am going Thursday - Sunday as well. Weather looks nasty for fishing but going to give it a try anyway. I will be hitting the marsh to the west of the Island towards Leeville and Chenier. Hope to find some protection from the wind.

If that fails, I'll be enjoying the breeze under the camp.

Good Luck

Check out Dual Pro and NOCO Genius.

Dual Pro has good customer service and their chargers are well built, I have had two. NOCO chargers are compact and can be mounted easily. I have heard good things about NOCO. My Brother put one in his boat about a year ago, he is happy so far.

Northwestern Mutual 20 year term $1,000,000 Convertible to whole life with no medical if done within 10 years. Looking about $40-50/month if you're healthy

Meh..Only convertible within the first 10yrs. You can find a policy for the same price that is convertible throughout entire the term.

re: Life insurance questions

Posted by ram03reg on 1/30/17 at 4:48 pm
If you go with a longer term (20-30yrs), make sure that it is convertible throughout the length of the term...even better would be convertible throughout the term and to all policies. Most policies will be convertible but only during the first 10 or 15 yrs and to only one policy.

Sounds like you may become a Physician, so check into Wavier of Premium (WOP). Find a policy with (WOP) which if you become disabled, during your term policy, you can then convert to a permanent policy and the premiums on the permanent policy will continue to be waived as long as you are disabled...this will obviously increase the monthly cost.

If you don't want to spend the extra for WOP...maybe allocate the difference to a policy on the Wife. Depending on how far along she is, they may insure her before she has the baby.

What is the right way to ask about these fees without making the guy who negotiates our plan look like he sucks at his job?

Simply ask them to explain how the plan is structured. Explain that you feel that the expenses within the fund line up are high and would like to better understand the fee structure.

401(k) Plan are becoming more transparent but can still be very complicated, especially when discussing fees...it is very annoying. You need to look at the overall plan fee structure. Good luck, hope they can provide you with some insight.
Have you looked at the actual fees of the 401(k) or just judging based on the mutual fund fees?

Yes, there are other fees besides mutual fund expense ratios to consider

Different share classes pay different fees to the plan administrator or even back to the participants and are used to offset expenses of the plan.

You should read the annual fee breakdown to figure out how the TPA, the Advisor and others are paid.

I assume you have looked up the FORM 5500 for your plan already??

Ive never had an issue with snapping any rod but it does happen. Putting your off hand further up the rod while swinging fish in is a surefire way to snap a rod. Also any knicks along the blanks will create weak points - A good example is tossing them in the back of the truck with all your other gear and/or just tossing them in the garage when you get home. Not assuming that you did these things but these are usually the reasons why rods snap while fishing.

Always stored and transported it properly and treat all my rods the same. This one just happened to break. If it was a large red that I carelessly threw in the boat I would understand..but it wasn't.

I want to give Falcon another try, just don't want to be disappointed again.

Snapped a new Falcon Coastal right in half when I lifted a smaller slot Red into the boat...I do not waste my time with a net unless it is a nice size red.

I sling the reds in the boat all day with my Castaway Rods. I really liked the Falcon but doesn't do me much good if it can't hold up to the abuse.

I have a shallow draft flats boat...so the travel distance from the water to the deck isn't much.
