David McCallum, Ireland's husband at the time, directed The Great Escape

No, that was directed by John Sturges who also directed The Magnificent Seven which also starred Charles Bronson.

McCullum later died of a drug overdose in '89.

No, he went on to star in The Man from Uncle and most recently as Ducky on NCIS. He died last year.

East Tennessee, not Knoxville.
Trump flags flying from pickup trucks.

Knoxville, university town, is all about Bide...Harris. Oh yeah, Harris now.

Despite Memphis it's Trump all the way.
You've also got Yeager with the Dodgers.
edit: sorry, you listed Simmons with the Cardinals.

I don't when it started, but there was a transition where offensive catchers were moved to first basemen leaving defensive catchers batting .250

In my defense, LSU baseball always plays better when I don't watch
1. Bluegrass Miracle
2. 3rd and 17 against Texass
3. Earthquake game

I remember Sid Crocker's voice on the PA system saying, "here come....the Fighting Tigers.....of L S U!".

I don't remember what the current announcer says when the team runs onto the field.
Richard Simmons

New York - George Brancato, New York City, All-SEC 1953
