re: Class of 2016 predictions
Posted by IowaTigerHawk on 1/21/15 at 7:30 am
I'm a recruiting nerd, I admit it, I can't help it. Yes, we have to finish out 2015, but the 2016 recruiting cycle will be a lot of fun to follow. I don't know who exactly, but I believe we will land a historic haul of DT's. My personal top 3 wish list would be Alexander, Oliver, and Lawrence. My way too early prediction is that we break the Bama top ranked class winning streak in 2016.

SEC is still the best
No. Top to bottom the PAC 12 was the best. OSU clearly was the best team. The SEC will be back but in the college football arms race, others have closed the gap.

SEC homers can be so ridiculous. They were clearly the best team in the country by season's end. Heard Herbstreit say that all of their draft eligible underclassmen were coming back too. We won't get close again until we reverse the mass exodus of players leaving early and learn how to recruit and develop a qb. Urban has built a juggernaut in Columbus.

Doesn't Saban basically run the defense at Alabama?
Kirby Smart is the most lavishly paid figurehead in college sports. Saban runs that defense.

Yeah, cause lets only have 1 candidate. That doesn't make it easy at all for an agent.
Excellent point.
re: Chavis leaving: good or bad?

Of course it depends on the DC hire. The program needs an infusion of energy, and dare I say youth. However, if Les does not figure out how to recruit and coach the qb position, it won't matter.
Post NSD commits for 2016 signing class?
Posted by IowaTigerHawk on 1/2/15 at 9:49 pm
It seems as though there are always some commits for the next class soon after NSD. We had 4 commit soon after NSD last year. 2016 is looking like it may rival or eclipse the 2014 class. Any thoughts or predictions on who may commit to the Tigers for 2016?

re: Where does LSU rank in SEC west starting next year?
Posted by IowaTigerHawk on 1/2/15 at 9:13 am
1. Alabama
2a. Auburn
2b. LSU
2c. Mississippi State
2d. Arkansas
2e. Ole Miss
2f. TAM
Bama will again be the best team in the conference, the rest have the potential to finish 2nd or last.

It just makes too much sense for this to happen.
SEC's Little Big Horn
Posted by IowaTigerHawk on 1/1/15 at 2:46 pm
You gotta know if Ole Miss and MISS St. are contending for the division title, and Mizzou goes back to back, then its a bad sign for the SEC. The conference is not the best anymore. All that needs to happen now is for OSU to beat Bama and our humiliation will be complete.

I'm just tired of all of Miles' nonsense. Pay him no attention.
re: Christmas in Mississippi: The Verdict.

I am a upper Midwest, cornbelt yankee transplant who has lived down south for 20 years now. I have lived, traveled, and worked extensively in both Mississippi and Louisiana, both states are awesome and unique. IMO. The Mississippi Delta may be poor and backwards but its beautiful and full of history and culture. In fact, i've heard it referred to as "the most southern place on earth". The Mississippi coast is under-appreciated. I absolutely love South Louisiana as well. New Orleans may smell bad, but it is one of the great cities of the world. Natchez and Lafayette are beautiful, Vicksburg has an awesome story and the history is compelling. Natives of both states should be proud of their home. It could be worse.......

I have a hard time believing he is talking about this, but if he is, then that is BS. If he's as good as advertised then he will see the field as a true freshman. Look at what Jamal Adams did in a crowded defensive backfield.

I hope all draft eligible underclassmen take this into consideration. If they stay and we get average qb play, we can win the SEC.

Could be a special season IF we get the QB mess fixed.
If this happens and we get just average qb play, we could make a championship run.
